as much as we doom about the lightning's short term future literally where do the leafs go from here

they're about to lose one of their biggest drives of play on 5v5, pk, & pp ahead of one of the worst ufa classes i've seen, like they will probably be closer to a wildcard team than winning the division again

My favorite part of tonight's game was the Leafs getting booed off the ice. It's the least they deserve after how they embarrassed themselves.
Vancouver vs Boston in game 7 of the SCF will never not be the worst I've ever seen. It will take something generational to top that. Honorable mention to Seattle killing Denver but that's a different sport.
The Canucks were injured to hell by the time that series ended. The Leafs just flat out punk'd themselves tonight.

Final 4 is set. Who are you guys cheering for to win it all? I want the Stars.
Easily the Stars. Hoping for a Stars vs Canes final as I would be fine with either team winning.

Like I said, this was the plan all along. There's probably no team in sports that's as good in torturing their own fans as the Leafs are.

Most of the books have Turds slight favorites to take the EC.. ML is in the -110 to -125 range. Interesting, because ALL the major books favored the Canes decisively when paired against both Turds and Leafs before this actual matchup.

Personally, I think the Canes will give them all they can handle, but if Bobs keeps tending like he did today, he'll be the difference.

I've always been an Oilers fan. No reason to quit on them now.

what a trade getting Jones was for Florida

not sure what his fancy stats for florida were, but a rhd who can move and skate with the puck is so hard to find. getting out of chicago did wonders for him

we gave up two firsts for 1.5 years of two decent forwards. they gave up a first and a backup goalie for five years of a very valuable commodity. i'm sure the contract won't age well towards the end, but with the cap going up, wont matter much by then

the gap between zito and jbb is so large

At least for now it sure made their team better: He plays Hedman minutes and has a GWG, 3 goals and 6 points in 12 playoff games.

I'm really starting to just feel bad for the Leafs fans. It's really funny seeing them fail over and over again in the most spectacular way possible but at some point enough is enough.
It's no different than beating a joke or meme to death with overuse. That said at this point I hope it's a blown up and rebuilt Leafs that does better, not this Core Four, because they haven't been particularly endearing in any way.

The Leafs clearly have some sort of mental hurdles to overcome. The NY Yankees have a lot of pressure on them, but have gotten it done (historically speaking). Stepping in to the batter's box in a World Series seems like a perfect situation to be overwhelmed. There's also a fair amount of downtime between plays to get into your own head.

I'm not putting it on the players so much as the coaches and management, who don't properly address it.

What do we hear coaches talk about? Process over outcome. The Leafs are the most covered team in the sport, but I never hear anything like that out of their coaches, players, media, etc.

Shanahan is completely gone there is just no way they can keep him still. Watching Steve dangle litereally there goalie situation next year is a luxury, d-men wise they can add someone just got to figure what kind of direction forward wise berube wants to go.
