I just still don't give a shit about the Panthers. It doesn't make me mad if they win, so hopefully they beat the shit out of the Leafs.

I mean we're at the point where they're concussing other teams to another cup, with the league's stamp of approval. I think that's more important to stop than some annoying Leaf fans.

Toronto:

Plan A: defend them
Plan B: outscore them
Plan C: hold tight in the 3rd
Plan D: wait for the collapse
Plan E: hit the ENG

Plan F: skate away from the forechecker in your own end and go behind the net

Berube calling it a blatant headshot in the postgame. God I wish we had a coach who wasn't such a giant coward.

What are the odd DoPS reviews and gives that POS a game? I’ll say its 50-50.

Agreed but I think it will be a fine which makes mikkola getting a fine for almost breaking Girgensons neck even more awful. I seriously can’t understand how he didn’t get a game or 2 when Kuch got a game for it 2019. What the f***

Who is the audience for a statement like that? Saying it for the fans doesn't seem to matter.

Will this get the media going? Yes. Does Tampa Bay have enough heat to ever get the national media to side with us? Not really.

I see that type of play in the ECHL. We sometimes ignore that sports psychology extends to the refs/league. They are largely former players at some level, so they will have a certain lens that they see the game through. They weren't born into the ref priesthood, where they exist outside of society.

I think that refs like teams and players who demonstrate that they want to win. There has to be a certain amount of discipline, but if they're playing for the puck, you can sort of do anything. Penalties happen after the whistle, but you also can't wimp out and let the other team take liberties on you, because then you lose the refs respect.

Totally defenseless player
Not part of a “hockey play”
Contact was the head
Knocked out of the game.

And BTW, is a goalie.

Should be a series suspension IMO.
(what a POS to do that to a former teammate).

Might be for the very players that are playing for him and one another, showing solidarity and fortitude through plainness. Berube was a no nonsense kinda guy on the ice and is the same behind the bench and I think his players feed off that; it’s a different leafs team, it seems.
He would have gotten in Bennetts face as a player and is doing the same as a coach, he isn’t gonna pull punches calling things out, which commands respect.
One coach was a lawyer in his past life, the other- hockey’s equivalent of a hitman, 7th all time in league history with over 3K PIMs, each communicating accordingly.

It's a good choice. The only organization with more headshots than the Panthers was the mafia.
Yeah. This is exactly what the Leafs have to prove they can deal with.

Back in our window, we might not have been big on headshots, but teams definitely paid a physical price to play us. And it wasn't all squeaky clean, by any means.

We wilted against that kind of opponent until 2020.
