TBH even Toronto doesn’t bother me much. Could be good for hockey.Same, I don't mind that at all. I'm not really bothered by the no Canadian teams thing as funny as it can be... I just have 3 teams I dont want to win and ultimately one makes the ECF and one is heading into a game 7. Anybody but Colorado, Florida, and Toronto and I'm okay with it.
Rantanen with Cirelli as his center would be a thing to behold.See? Should have traded for Rantanen
By the time he has another chance (hopefully), it will be four years since his last good run. Same with Kuch. I feel like only generational, IE Ovi, Crosby, Malkin, Kuch, type players would be exempt from necessitating a trade. I don't think Point fits that category. If we fast forward to spring/summer of 2026 and he puts forth another dud performance, I don't know how him *and* Cirelli remain on the team by that fall. Someone would have to be on their way out or you're signaling complacency and legacy, neither of which JBB seems to be high on.Rantanen had 3 goals and 1 assist in a 4-2 win in game 7 - coming back from 0-2 and eliminating his former team. Poetry.
Take notes Brayden Point - except the “former team” part ofc.
I feel exactly the same. Something has to change with our center situation sooner rather than later. A bigger and/or physical center could solve a lot of problems Kuch and whoever is on L1 have had in the past.By the time he has another chance (hopefully), it will be four years since his last good run. I'd fully expect a different 1-2 punch down the middle if we underperform next year. I'm open to pushing Point down to the 2nd line, but im also open to keeping Cirelli and moving Point. It's weird. I've always been a Cirelli critic and I'm still not enthralled with the guys offensive play when it gets tough, but I don't think he's dropped off in the postseason the amount that Point has. Point's defensive coverage was BRUTAL last year, too. I vividly remember him and Dumba puck watching goals and Point did it again this "run." I thought Point would be here for a while, but I can definitely see a future Lightning iteration where he's not here, and soon, if he shits the bed another playoff run. I am beyond disappointed with what I watched this series. Mr. Button Hook.
Yepp and im interested to see how hungry TOR are to win this seriesFlorida and Toronto is going to be really entertaining tomorrow
