2024 2025 Injury Thread Hf’s Longest Thread Just Got Longer

The pure homo-eroticism the Avs social media was pushing out this season was incredble. They keep this shit up and in 5 more years the puckbunnies will have giblets.

That's about the only thing their social media person is able to recognize.

I'm a 100% convinced whoever that is, its a young woman who isn't that serious about understanding hockey, but THAT they are all over lol.

I mean... honestly, some of those pictures. You could seriously accuse the Avs players of cultural appropriation with the gayness.

According to CMac everyone else aside from Colton, just had bumps and bruises.

If that's the case, and he's not just downplaying it, it was a pretty disappointing series from Makar and Drouin. Their pucks skills just completely disappeared, even when they had plenty of time and space.

Cale's missed nets and very weak wrist shots. Drouin's passes in the feet and passes to nobody. Drouin looked really bad on the PP with plenty of time and space too.

Drouin was Mr Consistent all year, and then when he came back from injury, the only thing consistent about him, was he wasn't playing well. Very strange.

Who knows, but I wonder if the lower body injury that kept him out of the last 6 games of the regular season, never fully healed?

I was guessing it was a groin injury. This team always has groin injuries. IMO it's another unfortunate byproduct of Bednar's hard skating system, along with possibly shooting accuracy.

If Makar's wrist/arm wasn't messed up, we should really start pumping the breaks on how much his next contract is worth.

I understand regular seasons get you paid... but playoffs are what matters. I can't say that he mattered in these last playoffs. That's why it's so disheartening to hear he's fine. He just got beat.

I just have a hard time understanding how his shot was so bad, if he wasn't hurt. It's never ever been that bad. I feel like all 7 games were the worst 7 games his shot has ever looked by far.

Not just the missed nets, but there were lots of shots, where he had plenty of time, that were very uncharacteristically weak for him. Like Girard muffin shots.

It's been an issue in the past to an extent with his accuracy, and was worse in the regular season this year, but it was never as bad as it was in the playoffs, and he never had a problem with velocity on his wrist shots. I feel like he broke a lot of sticks this year too, not sure if that's related.

Avs have never really liked to reveal playoff injuries, unless they have to with the guys who didn't play. I wonder if Cale and Drouin were worse then CMac is portraying?

Nah, I don't think there was anything wrong with Makar. He stunk up the joint at the worst possible time. I had concerns that him chasing the 30 goal threshold so seriously would potentially come back to haunt him but never to this extent.

I hope he uses this as motivation for next season but this isn't the first time Makar has been bad in the playoffs.

Damn, he must have really torn it for him to not even be close in the playoffs.

Wonder if he didn't prepare his body properly for whatever reason after the upper body injury to end the regular season? Jumped back into action too soon perhaps?
He tweaked something after coming back, not sure what it was, really hampered his effectiveness. Then he was fairly good at least as far as forechecking and carrying the puck, just couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn (as opposed to the beginning of the year when everything he threw at the net went in).

I think it was mostly just bad luck there, regardless he should be gone this offseason.
