He's playing wing on the 1st line.

Cmac.. I got you a natural center in Necas

Bednar

Lehkonen - Mack - Necas

Bednar

Drouin - Mitts - Parssinen

Bednar's just been having fun with CMac's head since the Colton trade.
Necas isn't a C. He's always been bad there at the NHL level.

I mean I guess it couldn't hurt to try. But I think you put him on Mitts wing and let him drive play like he can.

Yeah, that's the info out there, but it also includes the fact that Rod was the coach making the decision not to play him there. I have a feeling Bednar would be more flexible.

You have to think his puck carrying ability and speed would work. Especially if you give him Nuke or Lehhky. If they're going to try it, maybe that's what they're waiting on.

Well Rod did try him there and he wasn't good. Hence why he's been on the wing most of his career. I mean it could be worth a shot here with Mitts struggling, but I don't believe he'd be a solution.

Sometimes different wingers make a huge difference. IMO it is worth a shot but I think if Bednar is willing to try he is most likely waiting for Nuke to come back as our W depth is pretty thin right now especially with Colton going absolutely cold.

It should be entertained. Vastly different system and structures, the player prefers that position, and the potential benefits of better balance. Even trying him on the second line wing should be tried imo, just don’t rule anything out until it’s given a try for a few games.

He was also younger, and it sounds like buying into and playing within a defensive structure wasn't something he was immediately willing to do.

Which has clearly changed. He's nothing special defensively but back checks 2x harder than even Mack does lol.

It should be attempted at least.

Do you recall on their way to the SCC during the last couple of weeks of the RS, JB put out Avs game line ups that were bizarre? IIRC, he made a conscious decision to forgo going after the President’s Cup again to try and ascertain if certain players could play outside of their normal position presumably in anticipation of injuries occurring during the PO run. That’s why I’d think he’d want to try Necas in different spots. Think Nuke’s evolution from 3rd liner puck hound that had hands of stone to that guy we saw during the SC run.
