Back spasms would certainly explain why Malenstyn has been ineffective. Those rarely start in the middle of a game apropos of nothing.

Six regulars and one of their better recalls all on the injured list. Now that is much more Sabres than we've been experiencing.

Maybe he and Samuelsson both went to the same vocal coach and wound up as castrati?
