He's definitely better than last season, but I still have the feeling that he allows a bad goal like every other game. Like when LA scored their first goal, or Svechnikov's goal 2 days ago

So this might be dumb, but this year might be the perfect year to try to get Marchand for the playoff run if Boston is selling. He would fit perfectly on the second and third lines. He also brings that locker room leadership. Only has this year left.

As an avid EA NHL player, you should know that of you really dislike a player, you should just trade for them and then send them to the AHL. JBB just needs to remember to turn off waivers in the settings. I used to do this with Kovalchuk.

you know what.... as much as i hate Marchand, he is really what we could use right now. im sure we would be one of the 8 teams he wouldnt waive for but its definitely something interesting to think about

We aren't keeping Geekie if we trade for Marchand. There's just no way. We are gonna need another center at some point too. Cirelli and Paul are gonna get chained at the hip tasked to shut down the #1 line of whatever team we face. Bet on it. That leaves Point-Kucherov on line 1. You have Hagel, Marchand and Guentzel without a 2C option and I give it 93% odds Hagel is gonna get tasked with a shutdown role.
I honestly think Coop would rather throw line 2 and all the scoring that comes with it into the fire if it meant not having to fashion a new shutdown line

Yeah, he's much improved over last year, yet not back to peak Vasy form. He's been good enough thus far for me to believe he could take it up another level in the playoffs.

I was thinking about Andersson a bit this morning and it could actually be a super savvy move if the cap has the bigger than expected jump that EF is reporting. You could essentially build 3 very solid 2-way pairs of:
Moser - Andersson
McDonagh - Cernak
Hedman - Raddysh
Which would allow us to give Hedman more sheltered starts as he ages and begins to decline. This would be allotting a lot of capspace for Defense though, so you'd have to be pretty confident in Geekie at 2RW as we would have very minimal budget to upgrade their and would need to spend pretty much the entire remaining cap on our third line.
