We have 5 more points than the Isles, not even very creative with the BS click bait. If the Isles have a mind to trade him, it'll be in the offseason, or at the very least...later in the year when the playoff hunt becomes clearer. That says nothing to the fact that we have bigger needs up front.

Tuch isn't the only player that JBB could try and acquire via an overpay from a team that is probably not looking to move such a player. Foerster, Cuylle, Zetterlund, and Tolvanen are other interesting names that one could see JBB making some calls about. Each would require a large amount of assets to acquire, but that hasn't stopped him before. I doubt he'll hesitate this time either if it's for the player he and his staff believe is the right piece, both for now and the future.

I don't have the best impression of Dobson so wouldn't be hyped even if it were true we absolutely murdered him in those Islander series.

If JBB is really focused on Tuch, Tampa could offer up one of Geekie or Howard+the '26 1st (top 10 protected), and either another solid prospect/2nd rd pick or youngish roster player such as one of Raddysh/Perbix or someone like Goncalves/Chaffee/Eyssimont. If the equivalent of 2 1sts+possible 2nd in value wouldn't be enough in futures+one roster player (that isn't a high impact part of Tampa's core), then Tampa should just look elsewhere. Even this offer would be steep, but like with Hagel, you aren't going to get a high quality player like this without it hurting to do so. That neing said, there are plenty of good targets out there, both ufa and otherwise, for Tampa to go after, and many that won't cost nearly this much.

Buffalo wants help now, not in a couple years. The youngest team in the league doesn't need to get younger. They don't want futures. Cernak or Cirelli is going to get you Tuch. Both have NTCs, neither would waive for Buffalo.

Either Geekie or Howard would provide them help soon, andnif Tampa sent a roster player as well, they'd get two likely additions. I never thought Tuch was realistic because of what many have said about them wanting higher level players, but if Adams is listening to offers, this would be the best I think JBB would do.

Too much for me. Hagel was 23 when we got him, and I would also want a early 20’s impact player for that price. Tuch while not “old” is on the wrong end of the bell curve and gets really expensive after next year.

Tampa gets him for the rest of his prime in this scenario, and with the cap going up, Tampa will easily be able to afford his raise in 2 years. Buffalo fans seem to think Tampa doesn't have the right pieces to obtain him, which may be true; however, he's a great age for Tampa's remaining window and Tampa isn't getting any high impact younger rfa for.any less than 2 high quality pieces, similar to Hagel. If JBB had to give up one of Geekie/Howard and the '26 1st as the main base for Tuch, I doubt he would pass on it. Any additional adds from Tampa's end would just be sweeteners and likely to pay for some retention on Tuch in order for JBB to possibly make one more move for the middle/bottom 6. I still don't consider Tuch as a very realistic option, but if he's the player JBB us dialed in on, well, we've seen that he is willing to pay what is necessary to get his guy.

Getting Moser back after the break is like a free trade deadline move. He looked good with Hedman before the injury.
Means, if JBB does make a move, it will be for a cheaper bottom 6 forward, or if willing to pay it should be Dobson, but for once I would like to keep our top prospects and 1sts.

I am just saying we shouldn’t fixate on Tuch to the point of a massive overpay like we've done before, he's not at the right age to try and make that work with years of affordable cost control in front of him. All of this extra cap space we are getting over the next few years is a big opportunity to turn us back into cup contenders and extend our window if used intelligently.

I would give a lot for Tuch. He's basically what we hope Geekie turns into, except with his prime years aligned with our core.
