I think he will go fairly cheap. Teams always say that.

Age doesn't really matter. We just need guys who can contribute for a run.

Gotta wonder if Nashville really will sell.
I agree considering he is hurt and a ufa at the end of year and hasn't been great in Seattle.

Yeah... no. Unless they are gifting him for a 6th rounder while retaining 50%... pass.

Absolutely f***ing NOT. Our entire bottom 6 is barely above replacement level. Like not even one guy at a Paquette or Nate Thompson level and we're f***ing around with the idea of an overpaid 3rd pairing corpse when Moser should be back in a few weeks

with utah potentially out of a playoff spot, i would love to snag kesselring from them (if possible). 6'5" 215lb 25-year-old right-handed defenseman with offensive numbers on par or better than raddysh, but defensively comparable to cernak.

affordable, as he has an additional year @$1.4M and then an RFA

why would they let him go? i don't know, he's a sixth round draft pick and chicago gave up hagel, anything is possible.

8. The Devils, Senators and Maple Leafs also were among those who went hard for Brandon Saad, as did Tampa Bay. Can’t fault Saad for picking Vegas, despite the team's current struggles. The Golden Knights will be just fine.

...

16. If he’s available, can see Tampa Bay lusting after Alex Tuch. They wouldn’t be the only ones.
Trades are happening early this season, and the 4 Nations break may spur on more deals.

Rickard Rakell is a bit older than I'd prefer (31), but he's a right shot finisher, which could work well with Kucherov on the PP.

I imagine the ask for Tuch would start with Geekie, but man if you custom made a player to perfectly fit what this top 6 needs that player would look a lot like Alex Tuch.

Hagel/Cirelli/Tuch would probably be the best two-way 5v5 line in the league.

Honestly I'd be fine trading Geekie for Tuch.
Tuch is exactly the player we need. Right shot, big body, scoring quality and ppg player in the right conditions.
Still signed to a 4.75M deal till end of next season, still 28 y/o.
He fits right into what we desperately need, he fits into the last 3 to 5 years we have to be a true contender. Add him, then during the offseason sign some decent players for bottom six and D depth... and we got ourselves a true cup contending roster.

Buffalo just ain't gonna do it unless we drop our pants to get it done, unfortunately. Cya Geekie if that's their big ask.

I could see us doing a massive trade with Buffalo, maybe something like this:

I think that haul would probably be around what we'd need to give up just for Tuch. Also, I don't really like Bowen Byram - it feels like he had one great playoffs and then has been pretty whatever the rest of his time in the nhl.
