I hope not. Between him.being older and dealing with the injury, plus some rumor/speculation that Seattle wouldn't let him go cheap, I'd hope JBB just passes for now.I'd be surprised if we don't make a run at Gourde.

I think he will go fairly cheap. Teams always say that.I hope not. Between him.being older and dealing with the injury, plus some rumor/speculation that Seattle wouldn't let him go cheap, I'd hope JBB just passes for now.
I don't see why we would do it now and not the off season for a 4th line role.I'd be surprised if we don't make a run at Gourde.
If we tried to make a run last year, we will try this year. There are guys Cooper loves. Gourde in a pure shutdown role is one of them.I don't see why we would do it now and not the off season for a 4th line role.

Vancouver loves Sherwood and wouldn't give him up barring overpayment where they couldn't refuse. In Vancouver they value Sherwood at a 2nd minimum, and that's just a stupid price for him.A few trades/roster I was working on for after the deadline:
Guentzel-Point-Kuch
Hagel-Cirelli-Bjorkstrand
Sherwood-Paul-Geekie
Ace-Glendening-Goncalves/Chaffee
Tampa can configure the 3rd line as fits best, and I traded Chaffee as part of the Sherwood trade, but one of him/Ace/Goncalves would need to go for cap reasons (and to likely make the trade work). Bjorkstrand with retention for another year likely costs the '26 1st, a mid round pick, and a prospect of some sort and/or a roster player perhaps.
Hedman-Moser
McD-Cernak
Dumoulin-Raddysn
Lilleberg
Crozier
Dumoulin may be in high demand, so a pick+Perbix maybe for him retained could work. The cap is very close, but a little maneuvering should make it work. Anyway, Just one look at how some improvements could be made.
Bringing back Killorn makes way more sense if we're going the nostalgia route lolMultiple people should lose their jobs if we bring back Gourde. The solution isn’t bringing back a 5’8 bottom 6er who’ can’t score and is 33. Have we not seen enough of this with Atkinson and Sheary?
Let’s bring back Tyler Johnson too.. come on people
Good thinking. Also, Sami Salo should increase our offense from the blueline. What a shot! Why don't we just sign Strålman to fix our defence?
I'd overpay for Sherwood, and Bjorkstrand is a better fit for Tampa imo (although id be good with Tolvanen as well). Dumoulin is having a good year, and his vet leadership plus playoff experience could only help, especially if injuries happen.Vancouver loves Sherwood and wouldn't give him up barring overpayment where they couldn't refuse. In Vancouver they value Sherwood at a 2nd minimum, and that's just a stupid price for him.
I think we'd have a better chance at getting Tolvanen over Bjorkstrand. And I'd much rather have someone else than Dumoulin. Soucy is on the market apparently, might be higher price though.
I love to have Olivier here, but will never happen. Columbus is working on a long term deal and is one of the best players for them, playing a great role and responding in numbers. I will go for Deslauriers if I was the GM. Anyway, hard to make a trade for those type of players, people then complain for the cost, for what they do but accept players like Sheary or Girgensons they make more money than Watson for example last season and don't fight, don't hit, don't score...BriseBois was talking about limited options due to teams still being the race. Is there video of his mid-season address? I thought he mentioned the east specifically, but I could be wrong. Buffalo and Philly seem like no brainers to sell, and Montreal is coming back down to earth. I'm selfishly hoping that Columbus tails off, as much as they're easy to root for. Olivier or Kuraly could fit in further down the lineup.
Rumor has it that LA might be willing to part with Clarke. It might not be a "win now" type of trade but that's a hole that may need filling pretty soon. I'd be interested if that's truly the case.
JBB was referring to the east. Also the Clarke rumors started from Weekes just purely speculating with no knowledge of the situation and multiple insiders have since said that Clarke isn't available.BriseBois was talking about limited options due to teams still being the race. I proposed '26 1st (likely with some protections), Gauthier, and a 4th. Some Seattle fans seemed to be receptive on other sites, so I'd be good with that. There's very few players out there that fit better than him imo, and with one additional year after this, retention could be possible. If not him from Seattle,Tolvanen is a good option as well, and he may come a little cheaper (although probably not much). He also has a year left after this, so that would be good as well.I don’t see us going after a high end D or prospect this season, maybe during the off-season when lots of teams are in roster transition. Moser is effectively our big D pickup once he returns.
@JTBF81 has been pushing the Bjorkstrand idea and I have to agree, from all of the guys potentially available he’s on the top of the list. He fits our second line perfectly, is a RH shot, and is in his prime. If by some miracle we can get him without giving up Howard or Geekie it’s a huge win. A package centered around Gauthier and a 1st would be ideal, with some additional smaller adds if necessary
Bjorkstrand is good but if you're going to deal a top prospect AND a 1st I'd want someone a tier above that, or with a few more tools/ "intangibles" etc. He's 8th in ATOI of Seattle forwards and doesn't PK or do a ton away from the puck, not physical. He's not too far off from guys like Rakell or even Boeser, who don't excite me much. Granted I like him over those 2 but not by a ton. Especially at 5+mil, it would be hard to also fill the void of an effective "soldier" type player which TB needs at least one more of. The bottom 6 would still be hurting after that trade. Gauthier himself could be one of those guys in another couple years.
If you can add a top 6 RW and someone like Kunin or Hathaway then I could live with it, but I'd like to aim for someone a bit more battle tested if they're going to play heavy minutes and potentially slot into Hagel & Cirelli's line.
