I think that's what would happen though. I feel like a trade for Evans would go down like a scene in a movie where someone like a police officer walks into a bar and asks for the price of beer. The bartender says "Beer is $5. Beer for you is $25" and then the bartender raises it to $35 just to be an asshole when the police officer asks if it's a joke
The highlighted people are not being moved from their teams. No chance any of them go anywhere. Holloway would be great from St. Louis. But I don't think they would move him either, he's doing great over there. He's worked really well with Schenn and Kyrou.
I agree, but I do think that the players listed don't really seem even remotely available. I think the Hagel equivalent this year might be Dobson, but I would expect that he'd be more likely to be involved in a hockey trade.
Dobson has already had a solid breakthrough. There are many, many players just breaking in, beyond the high tier list I mentioned, which would make them more available.
If he wants a real top 6 winger, especially if they have any term, the '26 1st is likely gone (unless he's moving one of Geekie or Howard, which seems less likely). I would be very surprised if JBB doesn't move it. Whomever Tampa might select with that likely later 1st round pick isn't going to be much help anyway in the current window (maybe the very end of it), so I'm good with JBB moving it for a player that is likely to be of considerable help over the next 3.or 4 seasons at least.
If we are giving up that first, yeah its going to have to be for Bjorkstrand. I think a 2nd+ this year would be able to grab Tolvanen considering Seattle got him for free.
Point - McDavid - Hagel is the line I want to see. Just speed and puck hounding the whole time.
Very little chance he is trading Cirelli, as contending teams don't trade their quality 2C's when they don't have any reason to. The team seems to have made it pretty clear that Cirelli is part of the core F group, and removing quality talent from a group that needs a bit more depth makes little sense. JBB certainly isn't moving him for futures given Tampa's current position, and there's little reason to make a hockey trade when you're not going to be upgrading at the position, only making a lateral move at 2C or weakening C depth to address some other position.
Trading Cirelli is us waving the white flag and going into rebuild. We don't have another 2C who does all the little things Cirelli does. Getting a lower grade roster players and a good prospect isn't what we need. We shouldn't be looking at improving in the next 5 years, we should be looking at a 2/3 year window. The target for competition is Kuch's contract.
