2024-2025 Colorado Eagles and Utah Grizzlies (ECHL)

You have to think the Avs will try. There's two reasons he would have been included on the trade: either the Avs like him and asked for him, or he told the Rangers he wouldn't sign and they threw him in as a bonus. If it's the first one, the Avs will push to get him signed. If it's the second one, maybe Kempf just really wants to try for UFA no matter what, and he might walk, which is disappointing but probably not a huge loss.

At the time of the trade, CMac was pretty clear that they liked him.

He said that Kempf is a guy their scouts have watched a lot and they have good connections/communication with the staff at Cornell to be able to monitor him closely and get updates.

Sam2's D partner when they signed him I believe.

Taylor Makar will definitely get a contract. What kind of contract it is I have no clue. I’m not sure about an ELC right away. Maybe an ATO for Eagles rest of year and then an AHL contract after that? 2 year AHL contract? He was good enough to be brought in. Looks like Cornell is done too so wonder if Lindgren trade throw in Hank Kempf gets a look.
“I’d sign the extension Cale. Be a shame if your brother got traded to Buffalo.”

Hank Kempf, acquired in the Lindgren deal, gets an AHL deal instead of an NHL entry level deal.

Also signed another D named Connor Kelley out of Providence. He was drafted by Chicago in 2021 in the 7th round but never signed.

Two more D for the Eagles next year.

Both join this year on ATOs, the two-year deals kick in starting next season.

Connor Kelley is the most Chicago name ever. Also Boston.

Jeez he had two guys take a run at him. What was the other guy gonna do? Hit him from behind like that if he didn't spin?

Yeah, Gabe doesn't need to play any games for conditioning in the AHL please.

I saw this tweet on a board for a different sport in a different country. We're transcending cultural expectations with this signing. At least he's tough enough to be a hockey player with that name.
