2024-2025 Blues Trade Proposals Thread.

Kandre Miller is going to be an RFA this summer. No idea the price on him.

Nothing against K'Andre Miller but where are we going to play him? We already have Fowler and Broberg in our top-4 and unless we're planning on not resigning Fowler and playing Miller 3LD untill Fowler is gone (or playing Broberg as RD) I feel like there's a better way to spend assets and capspace. I'm way more intrigued by the proposed Schneider-trade.

I think we can get a Schneider type defenseman for less than the value of our 1st. I also don't think NYR let's Miller go. And I'm actually bullish on this draft. There are some solid players that should be there at 19.

GMs always hand out bad contracts on July 1st, now with the first real cap jump in 6 years, they won't be able to help themselves with a player like Bennett
It will be a very very dumb decision gives A 10 million dollar contract for a guy who only scored 50 points in a season twice at 29. I sure as hell hope it won't be the Blues if it does happen.

Rangers Fan said something about a Deal centered around our 1st for Schneider. now THAT is something I would absolutely look at entertaining.
If we're moving our 1st it should be in a package for a real difference maker. Even if we have to include a good prospect. We arent a Schneider away from competing with these top teams. We need more elite talent. We're getting closer, but now is the time to package up into a true difference maker. Schneider type guys can be added at the deadline every year once we finish building out our core.

His age would fit nicely with the team, though.

Leddy, Faulk, and Fowler will be mid 30’s when their contracts expire. I think it’s OK to pencil one of them in for 3-4 years past this year (likely Faulk or Fowler). I know Lidstein is in waiting, but the chances of him hitting are not guaranteed.

Stenberg is not a D

I'm almost never in favor of trading a 1st unless you are just a few pieces away from winning. I'd much rather have another asset we can develop internally, especially with the talent that could be there at 19. We have a glut of defenseman in the minors or junior right now, but I think I'd still rather draft another d-man at 19 unless a gem of a forward is available there. I think keeping the d-core the same is the best bet unless you're trying to offload Faulk and see reason to believe one of the guys in the AHL has a shot, which I haven't heard any talk of.

I really like the idea of trading for Braden Schneider. A big, physical RD who at 23, is in the perfect age bracket for us. I'm not sure he is worth our 1st, though.
Proven, young RHD are absolutely worth a 1st round pick. I like a lot of guys that might be there at #19, and generally I’m in favor of hanging on to your 1sts anyways. But this would be adding another player to the new core, and one that can be a long-term partner for Broberg.

I don’t love the idea of sitting out this draft until round 5 though. Maybe they would bite on a trade involving Faulk and a swap of our 1st and their 2nd. Faulk has two years left, which is the same term as a bridge deal that Schneider would be looking for. After shipping out Trouba mid-season, I could see the idea of a veteran, righty dman being appealing to them.

I wonder if there is a larger deal to be had, given their desire to further their shakeup and the rumors of LaFreniere being available.

Might not be enough, and we could need to add more in either a top prospect or a roster player……but:
To NYR: Bolduc, Jiricek, Joseph/Texier (50% retained), 2025 1st, 2026 3rd
To STL: LaFreniere, Schneider

If they really want Faulk as you mentioned, then replace Joseph/Texier with Faulk and still retain the 50% for 2 years. We get a pair of 23 yr olds with lots of NHL games under their belt. We don’t necessarily need another left shot forward like Laffy, but he can play both wings and it would be a huge talent upgrade.

Laffy -Thomas - Snuggs
Holloway -Schenn - Kyrou
Buch - ??/Dvorsky - Neighbours
Walker - ???/Sunny - Toro

Fowler - Parayko
Broberg - Schneider
Leddy/Tucker - Kessel/Tucker

This was my thought, nice target, but not at the cost of our 1st. I could get behind a Ralph/Stancl + lower tier prospect sort of trade though. Im fine with our 1st being moved as well, but should be held for a bigger splash, upside trade.
