2024-2025 Blues Trade Proposals Thread.

Has not produced or really shown flashes of it at the NHL level. Would be the equivalent of slotting Dean or Dvorsky at 2C based on draft pedigree.
That's not true. He played 33 games with Vancouver and only put up 11 pts but he didn't get much playing time He's plays a heavy game(80 hits in 33 games)and is really good on the dot(57.7%). Not a high level skater but is better than Schenn or Dvorky. He's shown as much if not more than Holloway before the Blues offer sheeted him. Raty, Dean and Dvorsky have very little if any comparables

What do you guys think about Aatu Raty? He's an RFA so maybe offer sheet hom at the 3rd value like Holloway. Or maybe through a trade. Seems like he could be a good fit in between Holloway and Kyrou.
I don't think offer sheets are on the table, and VAN has more cap space than us anyways so I don't think they'd allow it to happen.

I like the player a lot though, and I would be thrilled to get him. He's poised for a breakout season very soon. If VAN brings back Pius Suter, they have him, Petterson, Blueger, and Chytil down the middle. I could see them dangling Raty as a trade piece to fill out other parts of the roster.

Vancouver has 16m in cap space but they also have to sign Boeser and Suter along with a defenseman. They are also looking to make a splash either by trade or FA. They might try to sign Luke Hughes to a huge offer sheet.

The thought for doing the offer sheet route would be the same as Holloway. Young player that seems on the verge of at least being an NHL player but has the skill to be a top 6 center if it clicks. Vancouver may not want to risk the cap space when they have eyes on making big deals. Essentially giving up a 3rd for Raty would be a no brainer

Hughes isn't eligible for OS.

Boeser isn’t expected back either.

That's not true. Both sides have said they will be working on an extension before free agency opens. Not saying it's a done deal but both sides said they were open to a deal. Van's gm also said they may not have much cap left come July 1st and the thought is he's bullish on signing Boeser.

Boeser’s camp came out and said that he’s not expecting to be back in Vancouver. It was on TSN a month ago. There has been nothing since that conforms to what you claim.

I can’t conceive of a GM this summer leaving an important RFA who is eligible for offer sheets without either signing him, trading him before it gets to that point, or inviting an offer sheet because they prefer the compensatory picks.

I do think players can leverage the risk of an offer sheet in contract negotiations a little more effectively.

I find JR saying to basically Run Away from the Idea of trading for EP kind of funny.

Tho a guy he did mention that I like the Idea of is Shane Pinto. RH Center scored 20+ goals 2 of the last 3 years (9 goals in 41 games in 23/24 because of a 1/2 season suspension). Could slot in nicely between Holloway and Kyrou. He's currently stuck on the Ottawa 3rd line behind Stutzle and Cousins.

Yeah, he'd be a nice target but I don't see Ottawa moving on from Pinto after showing a lot of patience with him the past couple of years. Now they are in position to reap the rewards and I see him staying where he is.

Was this on 101 ESPN or recent article in Athletic?

does he explode when hit from behind?

Definitely true. Really just depends on how they want to construct the roster since they have Stutzle at 8.3 and Cozens at 7.1 until 2030 and Pinto has one year left before he is Arb Eligible RFA and will most likely be asking for a sizable raise from his current 3.75.

If that’s the case, we should just call up Allvin and try to trade him a 3rd rounder for him now. Why go through the rigamarole if that's the price we are willing to pay?

Boeser himself said it is unlikely he will be back in Vancouver on April 10th.
