2024-2025 Blues Trade Proposals Thread.

What kind of plus are you hoping for to balance a trade between a yearly 30+ goal scorer and a prospect still in college?

I'm not sure because I don't know what Van would be willing to part with. I've been a longtime advocate of Kyrou. I'm not suggesting the Blues should trade him just to trade him. I'm not even saying it would have to be Willander etc.. but I would certainly entertain offers from other clubs in the offseason.

They would never move him because his contract is such a great value, but you know who would make a really nice 2C to put between Holloway and Kyrou?

Ivan Barbashev.

Would he? He played a little on the Blues 4th line but I think it's a bit of a leap to say he'd be a really good 2C. He's been predominantly a winger in his career.

Holloway-McLeod-Kyrou would burn. Don't see why Buffalo would be eager to move him though.
Not sure they would be eager either, but is there a hockey trade we could make? They have tons of cap space so I’m sure he’ll get a multi-year offer, but does he want to be there long term? He’s the type of center I want though.

Since Vancouver has been somewhat of a theme, what about a deal around EP + Willander for Kyrou + Dvorsky?

It’s a lot of value from each side. I’m not sure what additional pieces would be involved to make it even.

Absolute No for Anything with EP. I don't care if we are only giving up Faulk, Leddy, and a 7th for EP straight up. He has been absolutely god awful this year. and at 11.5Mil a year with a upcoming NMC AND massive signing bonuses.

I want no part of EP, especially at $11.6m which is considerably higher than Kyrou for slightly better stats.

Maybe I'm wrong and he ends up being a star again, but I have zero interest in EP.

What would it take to get Ryan McCleod out of Buffalo?? 25 yr old, 6’3” 190 with speed to burn. 20 goals, 33 assists in 79 games this season. RFA next year.
Just takes an offer sheet in the summer of 2026 :naughty:

In all seriousness I’m not sure what a trade would look like that both teams would be willing to do.

He’s actually an RFA this summer. I just wonder if he wants to sign with such a futile team. And we don’t have any picks this year, so no offer sheets. 😂 And I’m not sure what a trade would look like. Was just throwing out a guy I would want as a 2C.

With the AAV on Pettersson's contract and his recent play, he essentially has negative value to 31 other teams. Vancouver is really stuck in a hard spot because it's poor asset management to sell low but his NMC kicks in on 7/1 that is accompanied by a $10M signing bonus payment. NMC for every year 2-8 of that deal is scary.

I actually don't hate the idea of EP as our 2C if he can kick in 70 points a year. That's the reality of our system, a 100-point Marner comparable is only like 75 points in STL. EP seems like a good candidate for a change of scenery, plus I like the Steen - Swedish connection that may help EP find his game again.

The rising cap makes EP's $11.6M a little easier to swallow, but I'd only offer our 2025 1st, a prospect not named Dvorsky, plus a cap dump (e.g., Faulk). I don't know if that's fair value or not, or if they'd push for a forward roster player, but that's my line. If it's EP and Willander, then I'd do the 2025 1st, Dvorsky, Faulk, and maybe some later picks/lower prospects.
