Kyrou + 2027 (or 2026) 1st + 2026 5th (PIT or NYI)

for

Tkachuk (resigned) + 2025 2nd + 2026 6th (COL) + Perron

We get rid of Kyrou and gain 2 heart and soul STL guys. This is what the team needs, HEART AND SOUL GUYS!

Yes we give up a 1st but that will not be a early pick (lottery protected). Ottawa gets Kyrou + a 1st to replenish the one they will give up for the improper Dadonov trade. Also dump Perron's cap space.

Brady isn't even eligible to sign an extension until July 1 2027

I think Noah Dobson would thrive in STL. He's super smart, has great instincts offensively. could QB our PP and be sheltered in defensive situations by Parayko.

I could really see a great fit here. And I don't think he's a liability defensively personally. He's certainly no parayko there though. But certainly passable in the top 4 and maybe Steen era and beyond he's improved in that regard and can be a top Pair petro type that we can stick a defensive D next to.

I think this team needs a Tkachuk too. Maybe in the offseason, pre-no trade claus for Kyrou, there is a deal to be made. If OTT values years of service remaing on current contracts, there's a chance Kyrou's value ends up attractive as a main piece back. Hopefully the add they ask for wouldnt be too unreasonable.

3 more at 6.5 isn’t that bad. He’s worth 6.5 this year. I think he’ll age ok, even if he’s a 3C in his final year.
He is not going to get better. Only worse and worse. 6.5 is ridiculous for the production he gives. He's not even a great leader and for most of our 2019 run he was a passenger, not a driver. In fact, his playoff numbers in general are pretty lousy and hes a - player overall.

The Blues would be lucky to get anything involving a 1st round pick for him unless they eat a ton of that cap space.

I’d gladly take a 1st considering where we are in our rebuild. But I think he’ll age ok, especially on a cup contender

If we move Schenn i bet we get some off the radar player back in return as the main piece. I could see DA moving him in a hockey trade for a player thats like 28 or 29 with similar term and possibly a B or C tier prospect added. I think if u can add someone that helps the next 3-4 years, while the remainder of the kids grow it would be a great lateral move considering Schenn's age. Personally love Schenn and would hate to see him go, but this is his peak value for the remainder of his career, might be time to cash in.

I sure hope your account is satire. I don't think anyone could consistently be so wrong on purpose.

The. Cap. Ceiling. Is. No. Longer. 70. Million.

Please, please, PLEASE, get with the times. 6.5M is only a slight overpayment for what Schenn currently provides at TODAY'S cap. The cap is projected to increase about 25M in the next 3 years. That is a larger increase than the last eleven years. So in the next 3 seasons, the cap will have gone up more than it has in the last 11 years. In the last year of his contract, 6.5M would be the equivalent of like a 4M dollar contract in 2014.

Is he overpaid? Yes. Is it a ridiculous overpayment? Absolutely not. With how much the cap is projected to increase, his contract is much easier to swallow going forward. His cap hit % will be about 5.7% in his final year, which with today's cap is like 5M. So just try to imagine that his cap hit goes from 6.5M this season to 6M next season, and then from 6M to 5.5M the following season, and then to 5M in the year after that.
