Will Leddy be back before the trade deadline? There is no timetable for his return, and we are less than 7 weeks for the deadline. Even if he is back, will teams pay full price for a 33-year-old who missed 50+ games with a mysterious injury with a bunch of set-backs who has only played a few weeks and still has a whole extra year left on his contract? that's a lot of risk to take on.

Yeah, I'm not expecting Leddy back fully healthy by TDL. I think he's the only guy who could salvage his value, but it's wildly unlikely. Saad or Toro would have to go on a wild tear before the deadline to undo their far from stellar play so far. And Saad's contract especially is a tough play.

He has a full NTC this year, even asking him to waive would probably cause issues we wouldnt wanna deal with. I think you guys are pipe dreaming w/a Buch move. Just my opinion.
His veteran presence would be missed, but moving Buch is probably the most rational thing Army could do at this point. At LW, this team already has Holloway and Neighbours with Stenberg, Pekarcik, and Kaskimaki on the doorstep. If Buch stays, at least one of those prospects will be traded, and we may end up with another Schenn-type contract.

I mean, the time to trade Buch was last trade deadline when a contending team would get two playoff runs out of a good two way player on a very reasonable contract. Armstrong asked for the moon and for all intents and purposes clearly didn’t want to move him because he was dead set on not hurting the team short term. A lot of people questioned it at the time. Regardless, his value has completely changed since then.

The question is: will his actual value exceed the predicted value of his entire contract extension?

If it becomes evident we aren’t a playoff team by the TDL, which players would you make available?
My list…

Faksa - 2nd
Saad - 4th
Leddy - 4th
Toro - 3rd
Walker - 4th
Very long wish list. Leddy isn't returning anything given his current health issues, and I don't think Toro/Walker get moved while still having another year after this.

You absolutely can retoractively add an NTC. According to Strickland, Buch had a full NTC added for this year, and the first 4 of the new deal.

He says no move but amended that in following tweet to be No Trade.

The contract details confirmed eliminates the 12-team modified no-trade clause for the upcoming season and makes it a full NTC for this season, plus the first four seasons of the new contract, a 20-team NTC in 2029-30 and 15-team NTC in 2030-31.

That f***ing sucks

I would keep Toropchenko.
Leddy is probably untradeable.
I would probably hang on to Faksa, especially we are sniffing a playoff spot. I think his value to the team outweighs what little we would get in a trade.
I would try and get whatever I could for Saad. He's a liability at this point, and I even wonder if he's a distraction in the room.
Walker, I am ambivalent about. It would be nice if he could get a chance on a contending team.
I would add Perunovich to the list.

Of course not. It was a dumb extension that was never going to age well. The concern is that he’s been bad all yr and the extension hasn’t even kicked in yet. If he was shopped he might even have negative value. The complete opposite of his value last spring. Was just a bad move.

Yeah that was a bad contract right from the start, should have moved him when they had the chance and thanked him for his service.
