While I think getting him would be good for the NOW i don't know how good it would be a year from now.

If we could Jettison POJ, Saad, and Tex, Bring in Kakko for 3RW, and call up Dvo I think we have a good setup right now.

Bolduc-Schenn-Kakko

But, we still need to think about Snuggy being on the way at the end of this season as well.

True, but you also have to consider Holloway going to be at center instead of Dvorsky. I know that Dvorsky's doing well right now, but I'd prefer to see him next year when he's seasoned from a year in the AHL.

I also don't know if Snuggerud is going to be completely ready by that time either; college is a completely different game than the NHL, and I'd rather him improve on the various little things with coaches who can tailor to his development. Whether that's in the NHL or AHL, I don't know.

Trust me, I believe in both of them, but I don't think it's the wisest plan for their development to bring them directly to the NHL after less than a season in the AHL or just coming out of college.

Again, I know he doesn't fill a need, but I'd kill to have Kakko on the third line along with Bolduc, especially if he didn't cost too much.

While next season isn't a guaranteed success for Snuggerud, there are many players who have transitioned well into the NHL directly from college namely Boeser, Oshie, Faber, Keller, etc.

Another big hurdle for trading for someone right now for the top 6 C is we really don't have anyone with high enough value that wed be willing to trade. Fairly confident Dvo, Snuggerud, Bolduc, Lindstein, Jiricek, and Stenberg and our future 1st rounders are fairly in the camp of "don't trade".

That leaves players like Dean, Buchinger, Ralph, Fischer, Jecho, Pekarcik, Burns, Kaskimaki, and Dickinson then our 3rd round and later picks. All players i don't think really have a ton of trade value to get what we need.

For a 3rd, 6th and struggling young defender. Yikes, Drury.
Kakko is not good, so not surprised. I blame Drury for rushing him to the Bigs. Kakko went from the draft to the NHL with no acclimation period. Kakko may have turned out okay, but rushing players often does not work out.

I understand that there could be an argument that he looked great in Camp and pre-season and all that, soooooooo.

Army traded a 4th FOR Texier…I’d like to see him offer our 5th and 6th in ‘25 to get rid of him. A less painful version of the Hayes fiasco…plus it would be kind of cool to see if we can trade all of our picks before the start of the ‘25 draft. They’re down to 1, 5 & 6.
This last two must go.
