If Adam Jiricek doesn’t have a strong finish to the season I’ll be worried. Not yet though. Hopefully he’s able to play at the WJC. In his 1 period of action as a 17 year old I thought he looked pretty good. I think he’ll have a strong WJC playing with his countrymen and carry that confidence back to the OHL for a strong second half.

This is kind of my thoughts on the Jiricek situation as well. I wasn't super high on us picking Adam and with all the injuries I am pretty worried about his development as well, wouldn't say I am ready to jump ship on him completely but if we did I wouldn't be upset about it. I don't really get the need to go grab his brother, who according to Jacket's fans hasn't really progressed at all the last couple years and then has a bad attitude about it as well on top of that. I know dmen generally take longer to develop so I would be willing to take a chance on him but I am not giving up a 1st or Bolduc or any premium asset to get him here.
There's no way im selling low on a player we just drafted 6 months ago. Defensemen usually take years to develop, i give the kid a much bigger leash, especially with our current roster needs.

That's why I said I am not ready to give up on him, if we are moving on from him I would think it would be something similar to a Rundblad or Bokk situation where is included in a trade for an upgrade, not talking about just dumping him to dump him. I agree that he isn't going anywhere anytime soon, just reiterating that missing 2 consecutive seasons in such a crucial period for development is very concerning.

Yes easily. I’d love that.

Same, and I’m a fan of Faulk. I would love to have an old school type guy like Trouba on our blue line.

A classic example of the grass is always greener. You may argue that Faulk hasn't been worth his contract, but he has certainly stepped up in multiple seasons with impressive point totals and offensive production despite having minimal top powerplay minutes. At the same time, the NY Rangers have been actively trying to shed Trouba's 8.0 M AAV contract for a multitude of reasons. That's not a trade any St. Louis fan should love making.

Cool, that’s your opinion but you don’t speak for every St. Louis fan.

Trouba puts up respectable point totals as well. I think he’s a better player. Faulk is an offensive defenseman who can’t QB a powerplay - him not getting PP time is a knock on his abilities, it’s not like coaching is preventing him from that. It’s close between the two, but Trouba is 2 years younger and also has 1 less year on his contract than Faulk. It makes sense simply from that standpoint.

As for the Rangers actively trying to shed his contract, well we don’t know how active they’ve been in that. He’s been in some rumors but he also plays in NY. Faulk plays in small market STL with a GM who doesn’t let things get out. How do you know we haven’t shopped Faulk around just as much? I’m sure we have at times, like we were doing with Krug. Either way, I don’t think who’s been in trade rumors more has anything to do with their value.
