2024-2025 Blues Multi-Purpose Thread.

I love the whites and I like the blues. The lack of a white outline around the blue note on the blue jerseys is a big mistake IMO. That small extra layer of outline that was on the Heritage jerseys really makes the logo stand out better than it does on the new jerseys. I also think that it makes the white striping feel a little less out of place.

I also prefer the shoulders on the white jerseys to the plain blue shoulders of the blue jerseys. Just a bit too much blue and only blue on the chest/shoulders of the blue jerseys IMO.

All that said, I am absolutely thrilled about the return to yellow numbers instead of white on the blue jerseys. And again, I like the blue jerseys, but I think that they are overall a small downgrade from the Heritage jerseys we've worn over the last decade. And again, I love the whites.

The white jerseys are absolutely gorgeous. I like the shade of blue for the blue jerseys, but the note just blends in with the torso.

Also happy they decided to keep the same shape of the prior note with the new colors.

I feel like the jerseys are basically a knock off of Buffalo’s, though, and Buffalo’s blue jerseys look far better.

Some new secondary logos as well. I really like the 2 treble clef ones. The trumpet…meh. I mean, it’s creative in that it’s a trumpet while also being the arch and river but there’s something about it I just don’t find appealing.

1000% agree. I didn't even recognize that the 3rd one was a trumpet until reading the word trumpet and it still seems forced even knowing it. No valves on the top. It's fully upright in a way no one ever places a trumpet. They went way too far away from making it recognizable as a trumpet just to have the arch and river upright like that. Honestly, I think it looks more like a logo incorporating the letters T-O or I-O than a trumpet. I actively dislike it.

But the Fleur and STL logos are fantastic. I loved the STL logo in the winter classic and desperately wanted the Blues to make it long term. Love that they have it on the pants. And the Fleur logo is a great compliment. I will absolutely be buying multiple hats with these two logos over the next year.

Very much agree on the white outline. For the amount of time they took with all of this, I have to assume it was eliminated deliberately and I'm curious as to why.

The trumpet looks like a logo for a non-profit that will close down in 7 years.

I’m a big fan of it overall!

I also like hearing the home jerseys that we’ve had will be used as an alternate, that’s still a good look as well

They potentially should have inverted the color of the logo and the jersey. The blue looks good on the white but it blends in too much on the blue. They could have made the note white or black on the blue jerseys to give it contrast. Looks good though, not super busy or abrasive.
I see what you mean, but I love it. It's a great use of negative space.

I just don't like orangeyness of the yellow. Overall, I love them.

In JR’s Athletic article, the team said they felt that the numbers “pop” more without the outline, so I assume it was taken off the logo as well to coincide with the numbers.

Should of had yellow stripes on the shoulders of the home sweater. Still like them but I think it would have been better
Nah that would have been too much yellow IMO. I’m glad they don’t have that.

Here’s a quote from Brenda Wilbur, Blues VP of brand and retail via Matt DeFranks’ article:
“It was just a cleaner look and feel,” Brenda said. “I did a lot of mockups with the key lines and without, and it’s just a bolder look and feel. I think with jerseys now, so many more elements are added in. You have the sponsor patch, and other patches going on. Just cleaning it up. We also took the stripe off the pant to clean the pant up as well.”

Well you’re wrong, Brenda! 🤣 The numbers without an outline don’t look bold, they look cheap and unfinished IMO. And it’s too busy with an outline and sponsor patch? Then get rid of the sponsor patch. 😌

Agree with Brian that the 2017 WC jerseys were a tad better. But I guess they couldn’t go with 100% of what they already put out in 2017/2022 and still justify having jobs so something had to change lol.

But what I wanted was the 2017/2022 WC jerseys and that’s 95% what we got so overall I’m happy.

At first, I thought the River Music mark looked like a bugle, not a trumpet, but the wave lines create the valves that set apart a trumpet from a bugle.

I love the minimalist, abstract nature. No extra outlines and an excellent use of negative space. I especially love the black long-sleeve merch with only a white outline of the Blues logo. I'm definitely buying one of those.

They went simple and I love it.

The Fleur mark has a little bit of the lily in it and I appreciate the recognition of St. Louis' strong Catholic roots (largest Catholic Diocese in the US outside of Boston). The Fleur-de-lis has always been associated with Catholicism and I'm ok with them using it. I also would have been ok with Utah going with a Mormon theme for their team. I'm not religious, but this is about heritage and history.

Although, the dude with the hoodie and the 2 Live Crew 'Me So Horny' gold chain blows donkey dicks.

I thought the Fleur-de-lis had more to do with the French history of STL more than anything related to Catholicism?

The Fleur-de-lis is frequently associated with Catholicism, especially the Virgin Mary concept.

The New Orleans Saints' logo is the Fleur-de-lis and New Orelans is big-time Catholic with parishes (not counties) all over.

Sure but the St. Louis fleur de lis has to do with the city’s French history, not Catholicism.

The white is A+. The Blue is A-/B+. I agree that the main logo on the Blue doesn't pop as much as I would like, but I do think it looks better farther away then close up. The numbers having no outline make them look kinda silkscreened on instead of stitched, which is meh. The light blue color looks great though, although I think something yellow on the shoulders of the Blue wouldn't hurt, such as the Fleur-de-leis.

The new Treble Clef logos are S+ tier and I am in LOVE with the fact that we incorporated one of them on the pants, f***ing A+++ to the team for that. I like the removal of the stripe on the pants too, I think that's a clean look.

Overall, I'm a bit disappointed in the Blues, as I think the Heritage ones look better. I think a couple small tweaks are in order there. The Whites are top tier though, possibly the best Whites in the League.

It is, but it is more associated with French history than Catholicism. That's why it is part of the Quebec flag and is so heavily associated with New Orleans.

As for St. Louis specifically, the fleur-de-lis is due to our French history, not Catholicism. The city was founded by French traders who named it after one of France's King's (Louie). That king was a Saint who people called 'Saint Louis.' Every discussion I've ever seen of our flag cites our French history as the basis of the fleur de lis.

I understand all of this. Thank you.

I especially find the history of Cajun culture to be kinda cool. They were Quebecois who migrated.
