Those kind of exercises are fun and all, but every team in the league can probably compile a similar list. Without more data it's really hard to say if there's a problem or if its just hockey.
For a fat guy without much talent, he’s had a helluva career.I think Maroon retired tonight. Last NHL game. And it’s with the Blackhawks. Yuck but funny.
Greatish career for Big Rig, who I called Monster Suck early in the Cup season.
Jax son got drafted by the Erie Otters
Schenn has become a ghost these last 8-9 games, with 1 secondary assist and a 38.6 xGF% since the Montreal game. This is the second time this season he's gone AWOL when we've really needed him. In fact, basically everyone on our team has a bad xGF%, with the exception of Holloway and.....Bolduc, who our coaching staff still seems dead set against playing in the top 6 for a significant period of time. Even with basically every metric screaming that Bolduc is outplaying Neighbors, Monty is still stapling Neighbors to our best players and giving him far more 5v5 time (Almost 2 minutes a game more) then Bolduc. I get that Neighbors is everyone's friend, and he's great in the room, and Schenn loves him, and he plays hard, and blah blah blah - but at some point someone on our coaching staff needs to realize that Bolduc is a superior player and act accordingly.
Good appeal to authority. /golfclap.Well one of you guys needs to email Monty and tell him how to properly evaluate hockey players. Clearly the guy doesn't have a clue.
Bolduc has been solid lately but his last 4 goals were on the PP. He's still got a ways to go to be a better 5-on-5 player than Neighbours.

Ok, fine. I'll give you numbers, since you want to troll:Yes, the guys who earn millions of dollars to make these decisions and watch the players closely on a daily basis. Correct.

Since Monty took over, of players with at least 150 5v5 minutes, Bolduc has the 2nd best xGF% of anyone on the team, the only other player better is Holloway. Neighbors is dead last on our team, at 47.11%. Bolduc is also 2nd best in HDCF% at 55.74, behind only Holloway. Neighbors is only ahead of Walker and Texier at 48.09. Bolduc has played a total of 84 5v5 minutes with Thomas. Neighbors has played 449 minutes. Neighbors has a higher % of offensive zone faceoffs.
Bolduc is clearly the superior 5v5 player compared to Neighbors.
NHL coaches and GMs regularly make bad decisions that cost teams. Noticing something like this and suggesting this could be one of them shouldn't be controversial. Also a big reason for the Blues success down the stretch has been Bolduc driving play on the 3rd line. It is weird that with players needed to step up and fill a hole there, he hasn't been given the chance to.Yes, the guys who earn millions of dollars to make these decisions and watch the players closely on a daily basis. Not to mention the years of experience. Correct.
But if you think you know better than them, then I applaud your overconfidence.
Take it with a grain of salt, but I do remember JR hinting that the secondary logo from the WC was something we'd see again in the future. I do think a "rebrand" makes sense from a revenue generation perspective. I do hope that secondary logo stays, it's cool to have a Blues version of a STL.
I am asking why Bolduc isn't being given a bigger role (Ok maybe more like demanding then asking) - that's literally the whole point of my post(s). I'm a f***ing guy on a couch, if I can see it, why can't they? To come back and say, Oh but they make all this money, clearly they know better then you:Lol I'm trolling? I'm guessing the coaches have access to the same numbers you do. That doesn't make you any smarter with regard to evaluating a hockey player. The issue is that fans seem to think "the numbers" are the only thing that matters.
Maybe you should be asking yourself why Bolduc isn't being given a bigger role instead of acting like you know everything because you can read advanced stats. I'm guessing it's because he's not ready to handle the tough defensive assignments that line gets on a regular basis, but hey what do I know? I don't have a fancy stat to back that up.
Bolduc hasn't scored an even strength goal since March 22, and only 1 ES assist since then. Jake has 7 points during that time, all ES. I'm sure you'll say that's 100% because of linemates but the bottom line is that Bolduc hasn't been producing outside of being set up for one timers on the PP. Have you considered the possibility that some of his advanced numbers are better because the third line probably gets easier matchups on average than the other 3 lines?
Hey @bleedblue1223, check this guy out. He’s saying Bolduc will be as good as Gustav Forsling!! I kid! I kid!I am asking why Bolduc isn't being given a bigger role (Ok maybe more like demanding then asking) - that's literally the whole point of my post(s). Gustav Forsling was placed on Waivers. He's went on to become the #1 D for the Stanley Cup Champion Panthers. Adolis Garcia (Baseball player) was DFA'd twice and went on to win ALCS MVP, a Gold Glove, and make the All-MLB team for end of year all-star while winning a World Series. I could go on.
To act like people in a position of power and authority can't make mistakes is the dumbest f***ing take I've ever heard.
He's "comparing" the players in the sense that sometimes coaches don't make the right decisions. So, again, why do you think BlueMed was comparing Jiricek's D+1 season to Faber's D+1 season, it's not like he was doing that for no reason at all.Hey @bleedblue1223, check this guy out. My point was I didn’t think he was comparing the two talent-wise and I thought it was pretty presumptuous of you to assume every other reader here would think the same as you. No harm no foul. It’s not like I’m trying to cover for BlueMed….just takin the piss is allHe's "comparing" the players in the sense that sometimes coaches don't make the right decisions. On the topic of Bolduc, I don't particularly care what line he plays on. He's been a good player, he hasn't been so good to the point that he has to get top 6 minutes, and I'm expecting him to make an even bigger jump next season, especially if we are able to bring in an upgrade over Sunny.

I was just telling my wife how I generally preferred the MLS teams' branding to most other leages, since most of the clubs are so new that the branding still looks contemporary.I've been waiting for a rebrand for a few years now. I was pretty disappointed in 2014 when the Blues "debuted" their current home/away jerseys only to essentially copy their design from the 1990s-early 2000s. I thought the Reebok jerseys were a step forward, but it doesn't surprise me how often organizations want to hold on to the past given how conservative the league is. I feel sorry for Kings fans because their recent "rebrand" was going back to their old chevy logo, which many of their younger fans can't really connect with. It is true that retros and throwbacks have been a hit (Anaheim Ducks), but it's only a matter of time when teams begin to run out of them and have to start thinking creatively again.
