Something that caught my attention listening to the Last Minute Blues Podcast with JR is JR made the comment along the lines of "Even if Blues had 10 more points I still think they let go of Bannister and bring in Monty" And to put in perspective. When Blues fired Bannister and Hired Monty they had 19 Points. So adding those extra 10 points would have pout them at 29 and tied for 4th in the league with the Canes.

If so that straight up means even if the Blues were a top 5 team in the league firing on all cylinders Blues still would have let go of Bannister to pick up Monty who they wanted all along.

Also Sounds like Claude Julian is done head coaching (per his interactions with JR). He wants to stay in the NHL, but he doesn't want to HC job and is happy with being Assistant Coach.

Wow! So, JR is even dumber than we knew.

I don’t buy that for a second. JR is wrong plenty of times and I think this is one of them.

If the Blues were rolling and playing at a 100+ point pace, I don’t see how they would make a coaching change right now. I still could see them hiring Montgomery in the offseason because they obviously liked him, sure, but he’s telling me that their 9-11-1 record had nothing to do with it? Having terrible metrics and being 30th in goals per game didn’t have anything to do with it? I don’t think that makes sense. Has a top 5 team in the league ever fired their coach mid-season (barring any off-ice stuff)?

Fact/Value dichotomy.

He posted facts, not value, meaning I read no opinion; just a situation.

Yeah, I’m calling BS on the JR there as well. Haven’t listened to the full clip so maybe there is some context I’m missing, but I’m guessing it was more speculating/filling air time than a statement of fact.

That's fair enough for Me to be lenient, for I am The Arbiter of All.

Well he wrote the same thing in one of his recent Athletic articles too. So he really believes it.

Yeah. I'm not too "he would absolutely" on what he said. Just something that caught my attention. JR likes to rattle off some dumb shit all the time.

I have no idea if Bannister would have stayed if the Blues were on pace to make the playoffs. Part of me thinks they would have still made the change because they think Monty is the longer solution. But hell, I have no idea
