Heard yesterday that the room turned against the GM. You don't see that shit often.

Players really don't appreciate what Drudy did to Trouba (and possibly Kreider) and Laviolette is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Don’t forget Goodrow, and apparently he was told roughly 15 minutes beforehand what was happening.

This all reeks of that f***ing idiot Dolan. The Knicks are more or less on the right track so he’s focusing his meddlesome ways on the Rangers. Not to say that Drury hasn’t handled this about as clumsily as a frat boy his first time on the Vegas strip, but I think this push to bully the players is coming from ownership. Drury is definitely guilty of failing to “manage up” but then again he literally got the job in the first place because the previous guys told Dolan no.

To be honest, the Rangers are lucky in a way that they are exposed now. A lot of the Rangers fans already knew this, but the rest of the league apparently didn't (or at least the majority didn't): They are a very mediocre team propped up by goaltending and special teams. Those two are struggling now, and they are exposed.

Of course all of the central teams also win last night. Wasted opportunity losing to Utah. Not to mention if Utah wins their 2 games in hand they pass us so we have them to worry about as well.
Yeah, still got work to do. 3rd in the wild card race on point% so technically out of the playoffs at this moment.

Wonder if Drury's actions will affect future FAs who are considering NY. I suspect the players will probably just take the money more times than not, but I do wonder.

Mental illness is scary. Robin....

edit: I didn't read the entirety of this thread
edit:2 I'm not going to ask you guys to read this thread of tweets from the man, it's a lot. But I don't know what to make of it.

Shit, is that real?

Wow, that's really sad if so....

He's been terrible TBH. No wonder the room is broken when everyone is in fear of getting traded, even those with NMC.

During the “Saturday Headlines” segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Elliotte Friedman reported the “Rangers are open for business”

The Rangers have already made forwards Chris Kreider and Kaapo Kakko available, while sources have told TFP there are clubs interested in defenceman Ryan Lindgren, who is in the final year of his contract.

Zibanejad, 31, has five more seasons left on his contract, but his name has started to pop up in trade speculation, despite his full NMC.

How the hell did the Canucks turn Kiefer Sherwood into a worthwhile NHLer, and apparently good defensively to boot!?
Credit where credit is due. This guy works his tail off every single shift. Hits anything that moves. Goes hard to the net. Blocks shots. Seems to have worked a lot on his puck skill, too.

I'm amazed his body is holding up so far. It's nice to see success stories like this.

I was told a few months ago that Swayman was one of the top 3 goalie in the league.

Avs will get Kakko to try to convince Mikko they care

Roy's Isles getting outshot 7-1 and trailing 1-0 vs Chicago.

Something is going to happen with the Islanders soon.

The pure entertainment side of my brain wants to see what Barzal could do on the Avs
The only way to make that work would be to trade Mikko, and we both know that's definitely not something we wanna do.

I have no idea. It would be dumb to fire Roy, he's not responsible for this old team on long term contracts.

Lou should go but will they fire him?
Lou really should go. I don't even know the Islanders management structure. Do they have someone like Sakic to fire him, or would the owners need to do it?

Rebuilding under Roy, and a different GM would be the smart move, but it sounds like they're not exactly financially strong.

Sherwood leads the league in hits by an absolute mile and is on pace for over 500 hits this year, which would shatter the NHL record.

No chance Bednar wants this guy.
Such a shame too. I know Bednar hates guys that play like he used to. But it would be great after watching 5 minutes of lines 1-3 running around playing the Avs typicaly fast but extremely polite hockey, to see Smith-Stienburg-Sherwood with Middleton and Manson jumping over the boards for a completely chaotic and hilarious 40 seconds and then back to lines 1-3.

Smiths speed and hands make it worth working with him a little. The leash will only be so long though.

Also we need to remember Bednar does have times he's willing to let a guy take a penalty, and he judges for himself if it was worth it or not. He's gotten through to guys before. Was it NAK that was a penalty machine prior? There have been one or two.
