A documentary of Michkov and Tortorella interactions of this rookie season would probably make better content than any of the other NHL behind-the-scenes documentaries.

Ha ha, I actually agree with him insofar as that a player shouldn't be looking to do it every time. If the opportunity is there, yeah, try it, but otherwise there are often better plays to be had.

A lot of noise was made (for obvious reasons) when Tortorella scratched Michkov for two games in the early November. Before his scratch, he had
13GP, 10 points, 3 even strength points, -8

Since he came back from being scratched:
15GP, 17 points, 12 even strength points, +13 (+5 better than any othe Flyer in that time period!).

So while it's obvious that he learns the NHL game as he plays more games, but surely that scratch did have the desired effect.

Interesting talking to an Isles fan about that last game--he shares Roy's frustration about nearly blowing that big lead, but he also wonders why in hell Roy was throwing Scott Mayfield out there to try and defend it, especially when it got close. I'm guessing he's got Nate Guenin syndrome again, which to this day is by far my biggest frustration with him. Took Roy TWO YEARS to finally figure out that guy sucked donkey balls.

Can't help but wonder if Tyson Barrie's prime would've been even better had he not gotten paired with trash for most of his time in Colorado.

For what it's worth, last 10 games: 6G, 11P, 7EVP, +4
I wasn't really trying to dog on the guy. I was more or less just pointing out that for a long time, we were interested in pretty much anyone who could play C. I was dumb enough to hope there would be a way to trade a Toews package to Arizona for Hayton and Crouse prior to him signing that 7 year deal.

Well you know the NHL is allergic to Fridays.
Which, as I've said earlier, I cannot understand. The NHL makes a big f***ing deal of playing games in Europe every year, and sure they give us matinee games which are prime time for us in Europe.

You know what else would help? Play as much as you can on the two days that people overseas can actually realistically watch. They usually have a pretty full schedule on Saturdays (30/32 teams in action tomorrow) so I can't expect everyone to play b2b. But how about spread it out a bit more?

Or I don't know, how about just not playing a single f***ing game on one of the premier days of the week. Find something.

I could be wrong, but I don't think shows like S.W.A.T, Fire Country, Lopez vs Lopez and Young Sheldon re-runs have the same audience draw as primetime in the 80s and 90s
How many people even watch TV actually these days? Because I'm pretty sure the percentage among millennials and zoomers is getting smaller every year. You can stream everything.

I have turned my TV on for like 3 programs this year, the rest of the time I'm just using it to stream movies, shows and youtube via my computer. And it's pretty much the same with everyone I talk to who is reasonably my age or younger (30). I can't believe it's that different over there in the States?

I don't think it's different here at all. Among all my friends (millennials) no one I know watches standard TV anymore. I barely use my TV anymore. I just have it for sports and the fact that it's bundled with my Internet and home security. I can't even remember the last TV show I watch when it aired new. On the rare occasion I want to watch a show, I just set the DVR and watch when it's convenient. Or as you said, stream it on Hulu, or YouTube etc, ect.

I do find it interesting that he has more goals than assists so far. Looks like he's taking a bunch of shots this season.
