Vanity signing of a star long past their prime by a noob GM who thinks they're much further along than they are, is it?

Again, I don't think Mikko's been all that terrible, he just hasn't stepped up his game in light of injuries and his shooting accuracy has completely gone out the window.

Honestly, if the turnover that got Pasta benched is the one I saw in the highlight reel, Monty kinda overreacted. It was just a really lousy change near as I could tell. Didn't result in a goal against.
I dumped on Mikko a ton last year and during the off-season but I've got no problem with the effort he's put forth so far this season.

This is the kind of effort that is to be expected from a guy that makes $9M+ per year...not whatever the crap that was last year.

Those massive back checks in back to back games were impressive to say the least.

Jets are 11-1, and appear to be a wagon. 12 points ahead of the Avs, who currently set 7th in the division behind the likes of Chicago, St. Louis, and Utah. 8 points back of 2nd place Minnihaha. Division already feels out of reach. Another disastrous couple weeks, and they could be permanently in WC contention the rest of the season.

Please. It's a long season. We've seen this team rattle off +/-10 win streaks all the time. Just need to start getting healthy.

Brunette is pretty dumb bloke. Why not risk to put on an extra skater at 3 minutes to play in the game when Preds where in the offensive zone with multiple of faceoffs. He waits until 1:30 or 1:15 to pull his goaler. What a dumb bloke.

As with many Adams winners…I just don’t think he was that great a coach to begin with.

But that right there strikes me as a coach who just doesn’t have a ton of faith in his team right now.

Did anybody really think that Torts wouldn't be hard on Michkov?

Also... outside the PP, Michkov hasn't been all that good. The kid has 1, that's right 1, 5v5 point for the entire season. He gives up a ton of chances without creating them at a high rate. When he has time and space, he is absolutely a dangerous player. As of today, he can't generate that time and space himself.

Plenty of rookies get sent up to the press box from time to time. Not a big deal.

And yes, Torts, true to his word, doesn't really play favorites. Everyone gets equal time in his doghouse. I've dogged him relentlessly in the past but honestly, I've always admired his consistency. That guy never, ever coaches to save his job.

The Flyers just look like an abysmally mediocre team, even on paper, coupled with the worst goaltending in the Eastern Conference. If I'm Briere, I'd just let nature take its course and tank it, draft another foundational piece, and continue to build. But I have a feeling those above him, who continually hold seances to find out what they think an old dead guy would want them to do, will prevent him from doing that, so we might be seeing some changes in Philly before long.

Last year they traded for EJ at the deadline.
