I know this won't happen, but I want zero Avs to take part in the 4 nations.
I don't know what your expectations are for the Avs this year but chances are that 4 nations tournament is the best and most exciting hockey we'll watch.

Looking forward to see Makar and Mack with McDavid.

I don't know the reason why Gauthier specifically did not want to play for the Flyers but he's well within his rights to not sign with the team that drafted him.

Legally he doesn't have to play for any team if that's what you're referring to by "well within his rights".

Morally, though? No, f*** that. RFA's and UFA's exist for a reason. It's not your right to f*** an org and a fanbase like that. Earn your way to UFA status like everyone else.

BTW Drysdale sucks.

I just looked on NHL stats page, there's two pages for goalies with 4 games played or more. The second page is only one guy 51 out of 51 4giev .822 4.68

I have no idea what you're trying to say with that first sentence.

Morality doesn't play into this at all. An RFA has certain rights, a UFA obviously has more. If an RFA doesn't want to re-sign, he's well within his rights to do so. The team has a choice at that point, either let him stew or trade him to a team he will sign with. The player always has the right to not sign, whether you like it or not.

This isn't aimed at you specifically but I've always found it odd how a hyper-capitalist society like the US managed to develop professional sports run as socialistically as they are. I only really know how the NHL works but the draft as a concept exists to, in theory, keep every team as equal as possible while giving minimal freedom to the players. Any deviation from this has people (this one is aimed at you) making "moral" complaints and talking about earning basic employment rights. I don't know how they all managed it.

I can’t see guys giving it full effort in the middle of a long season and prior to the playoffs. It is just a small made up tournament for some revenue. Beginning of the season, I could see that being great hockey. Middle… ehhh it’ll be 75% effort for a lot of guys.

Honestly I don't care about bilionaire owners and millionaire players one bit. I only care about the fans.

When teams aren't competitive it hurts the fanbase.

I love parity because fans from all the teams can believe that their team, at one point or another, has a chance to win a championship.
