Lmao I mean LTIRetire. Obviously don't give up the money but man that guy scares me.$18,300,000 remaining on his contract after this season.
I’d be showing up to training camp with both legs chopped off if I had to. Wheel me out there.
Basically, their full lineup again tonight. Deboer giving them no rest.
Completely out of position on the first goal as well and ended up screening his own goalie.Behind the play chasing hooking slashing etc.
Definitely not NHL quality.
I think the lottery balls did a lot of damage to them, too. That team with Stützle instead of Raymond looks very different today.Rags failed on their picks but they already had Igor and somehow inherited Fox and Panarin. They didn't do their rebuild, they ended up cancelling that plan.
Wings are an example of what not to do. In fear of becoming Buffalo and introduce a loser mentality by tanking for too long, Yzerman signed a bunch of UFA's to keep the team competitive while the kids are growing up. As a result, they didn't stay at the bottom long enough, didn't get all the pieces needed and now it's too late.
I know but it's talked about as the plan but it rarely worksI know... but if you really want to rebuild. You HAVE to SELL everything while it still has value. You need to walk into the rebuild with a bunch of AHLrs on the roster and about a dozen first rounders over the next 4-6 years. And almost as many 2nd rounders.
You must absolutely hit homeruns with every pick <10. Depending upon where you are in the rebuild, you may very well do better trading any pick >10. I mean seriously, we got Jost and Newhook at 10 and 18. Could we have gotten better out of a trade? Things to keep in mind.
But a full rebuild, isn't just tanking...it's selling while you still have wanted pieces. You need to get a jump on the rebuild by injecting a bunch of draft capital before it even begins.
Personally, I believe yzerman's UFA signings of these 'meh' players year after year did the most damage. It's like he doesn't have a plan or just can't stick to it. He's a terrible GM.I think the lottery balls did a lot of damage to them, too. That team with Stützle instead of Raymond looks very different today.
My opinion has always been that what doomed the Wings rebuild is a poor center rotation. Larkin is a low end 1C, but deployed behind Stützle he would be an excellent two-way 2C. Then Compher slots in where he belongs on the third line, and now you have center depth that can go somewhere.
I just have never believed that Larkin is the kind of 1C you can win with. I don't disagree with any of your analysis, but I think with some lottery luck they could have drafted high at just the right moment.
Exactly.. because nobody will sell everything. But if you want a full scortched earth rebuild with the best chance of success. You need to send Sakic to Vancouver in his final years. Allowing Joe to continue on one year contacts was great for Avs fans. Was horrible for asset mangemetn. These are the types of deals that make a difference with rebuilds.I know but it's talked about as the plan but it rarely works
I'm.looking at San Jose , Anaheim and Chicago and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. A wise man showed me it's not always a guarantee.Exactly.. because nobody will sell everything. Chicago never deserved a pick. Let's start with that. If you think they deserved a top pick after the shit they've pulled and been allowed to get away with there is no chance you will ever agree with an NHL that is actual even.I'm.looking at San Jose , Anaheim and Chicago and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Sure Crosby , McDavid. MacKinnon etc. is a great start but those teams have none of that.

Now for Crosby and MacKinnon...yes they are generational picks. We were f***ing lucking to have a first round pick when a generational pick was available. But let's not pretend we spent two decades sucking up 1st overalls like Edmonton.
The secret is to have a plan before you suck. This is what Anaheim and Chicago are not doing well with. I 100% reject you assertations that San Jose is not doing well. Mike Grier is doing very good things for that organization.
Lol. Celebrini looks like a 2C? He's an 18 year old near PPG player. How on earth is this a 2C?San Jose is the worst team I the league, I don't see it. Celebrini looks like a 2C and I'm not silent on Dickinson or Smith.
Habs fans gotta be shitting themselves lol
Respect to your old man for sticking with it
Too bad the Canes couldn't ice a real team. Habs are probably entering the playoffs through the back door.
Especially since they only need 1 point. All they need is getting to OT3-1 Canadiens after 40. If they blow this they truly deserve to miss.
Jost lmao that’s a penalty you shitter
Oooo lucky, he definitely played it with his hand in the dot. Supposed to be a penalty.
