2024 2025 Around the League Part 2

Both the Jets and Knights are playing like they want Avs vs Stars in round 1.
Vegas had better be careful, if they get St. Louis in round 1 that could be the upset.
He’s f***ing awful.

How many times did we see this before? Spin around against the boards, lose the puck.

Such a bad hockey player.

Very happy with the current roster construction but can't believe we got duped by this bum.

Kuemper looks pretty good. We wasted all those assets when we could’ve just kept Kuemper and Kadri.

I wonder if we would’ve tried harder to keep him if the eye injury didn’t happen.
Took Darcy a few years to get himself back on track. I don’t really regret the Avs letting him go, just who they went with afterward.

Casey Mittelstadt is somehow playing worse in Boston away from all the skating and pressure of the Avs.

27 point pace, -13, only 2 goals and a grand total of 14 shots on goal through 12 games.

I said it before the trade and will continue saying it: this is a guy who will either be retired, toiling away in the AHL, or move to Europe before he turns 30. The NHL is not for him.

I genuinely wonder what happened to him. He looked so good at the end of last season and into the playoffs. Started this year off good and then it's like the he was struck from the heavens and smitten of his hockey ability.

Why doesn't he fire it up the boards there? He knows 55 has a line on him so he can't skate it around the net. But turning back to where you know a Montreal player is? Very odd decision.

I answered that question below. It makes sense.

I mean in fairness, he got checked from behind by his own shadow there. I would expect his shadow to get a phone call from DOPS. That was a dangerous play which resulted in Mitts losing possession of the puck. Refs were blind to miss it.

And yet somehow he was worth Bowen Byram.

I really think the Stars are going to pass the Jets. 5 of their remaining 7 games are against teams that won't be getting in to the playoffs. They also play the Jets on the 10th for what could be a deciding 4 point game.

I like a Jets matchup for the Avs. Lots of pressure on Winnipeg especially if it's after blowing the division lead and also facing the same team that embarrassed them last year.

The East is extremely tight. Good luck predicting how the playoffs go, anything is possible.

The West is the exact opposite. A couple of top teams smacking everyone around.

The only "race" left in the west for the playoffs to make it is an outside chance Calgary has to overtake Minnesota.

Flames are 5 points back, have a game in hand and have one game remaining against the Wild on home ice.

Win those and they still are 1 point back so they need help for sure. That is the only race left, though.

I honestly think Calgary would give Winnipeg/Dallas a more difficult time than Minnesota. Calgary is a physical team, they've got some grizzled playoff vets and a goalie capable of getting very hot to steal games. Would love a Jets/Flames 1st round matchup.
