I liked Roy when he was first hired as a HC for the Avs. However, I’m glad he isn’t the Avs HC.
That first year was soooooo much fun. I think I had more fun watching hockey that year than I did in any of their Cup run seasons.
But it was not meant to last. And that disastrous 2014 offseason made things even worse.

Usually completely unexpected success is the most fun. That first season was chaotic fun. All out offense, bad defense and Varly standing on his head.

I think I recall seeing some disappointed Hawks fans post game on more than a few occasions during that time.
I can't remember if that was around the same time the Stars were all like "Yeah we don't need to play defense" and those games were fun as hell too.
Every time that Avs team was down you just knew they were going to come back. The shooting %'s on that team must have been insane.

When was the last time Montreal really had an elite player? Price? But even then, what else did they have?
Feels like Montreal is the Wild of the Canada. They never suck good enough to get premier talent but just can't make any noise stuck in the mushy middle.
