To be fair, it'd be tough for anyone to produce on bottom feeders like Carolina and Dallass

Does it really though? I really didn’t see any evidence of that with Vegas or Seattle entering the league.

Of course it's subtle, it's 1 team over 30some, so roughly 3%. But it's dilution nonetheless. It's NHL's version of shrinkflation.

One has to wonder what the Stars would have given the Canes for Necas at $6.5M AAV and another year to UFA. Hindsight is 20/20.

They went from goalie graveyard to Luongo/Schneider/Miller/Markstrom/Demko to signing a backup goalie for something like 4.5 million because they didn’t learn their lesson from watching the Avs
