2024 2025 Around the League Part 2

All I know is Hughes better not be in the Norris conversation because that's how it works, right? It was Fox over Makar in large part due to games played where Fox played in 11 more games that year. This season Makar has played in 15 more games than Hughes.

Yeah, I don't care if Hughes has a slightly higher pts/gm, Cale has 15 more points, and 9 more goals as of now. That's too much to downplay in favor of pts/gm. Not to mention the difference in defense and PK.

Cale's also clearly had a better season than Werenski. Nobody else should be in the running.

Again this shouldn't even be a debate. Last year was a lot closer with Hughes, though Cale rightly should have won IMO.

remember how they screwed Mackinnon of 2 Hart Trophies? Get ready.

Good thing Nate won last year, because he has bad luck with the Hart.

Hall robbed him in 17-18.

He missed 17 games in 21-22.

The other years McDavid produced like Superman.

Now when McDavid looks human, and Nate's been healthy, they may give it to a goalie for the first time in 10 years, and only the second time in 25 years.

Draisaitl may get more votes too, because they're close in points, but Drai's on pace for 60 goals, and Nate's only on pace for 33. His unselfishness might have cost him here.

Carrying the team as much as he did this year, and without Mikko for a portion of it, should count for something though.

Gonna be real hard to catch the Stars.

4 points ahead with a game in hand.

Those two turnovers from defenseman, and that one point may cost the Avs home ice, and in a potential 7 game series, that could play a huge factor. Avs might have to get up early in that series.

Even after gifting the extra OT point for Dallas, I don’t think the Avs would catch them. 3-5 points up with only 14 games is pretty rough.
Dallas would have to go on a pretty terrible run.

Very possible. Especially with the game in hand and only 14 games left.

A 3 point difference with the tiebreakers close, could be the difference between the Avs winning one more game than the Stars, and Dallas losing a game in OT though. If the Avs win the tiebreaker.

I think the Avs had a decent shot to pull that off. They have a better record lately too. 8-1-1 vs 6-3-1. So it's a decent bet they could have a slightly better record down the stretch.

4 points plus a tie breaker just feels like a much bigger challenge, despite only a 1 point difference. Now the Avs really have to go on a heater and the Stars have to underperform.
