There is no way, no how that a guy who topped out at 104 points last year and has 67 in 57 games this year has been "extremely bad." Call him frustrating, say he's not meeting expectations, but that is not "extremely bad." What we're seeing with Ross Colton and Casey Mittelstadt is extremely bad.
The Ismo drama was nothing. Ismo blurted out something, Mikko called him out on it, and he apologized.
The team that signs Mikko to a megadeal may indeed regret it but to me that's just more of the same with all teams who sign a guy in his late twenties to a gigantic max term contract they know damn well won't age well. The only entity I take no pity on are the teams who continually sign deals like that and then bitch and moan about revenues and the CBA afterward.
I'd argue his recent play away from Mack is a worse situation seeing as how much he's supposed to impact the game, and the money he's paid.

You can be extremely bad and extremely talented/opportunistic at the same time.
He was awful away from the puck, he was making bad decision after bad decision and his defensive play was the worst on the team.
He's very talented, has a great shot and played with arguably the best center in the game. That's how you end up with a talented hockey player who plays bad hockey and collects tons of points.
Let's see how many 50 goals/100 pts seasons he has away from Mack and Bednar.

I mean, we can have the discussion about if Mikko is past his prime and how his future production is going to look. But few years back, he was in fact more productive away from MacKinnon.
