It's the natural cycle of NHL. And there is nothing for Pittsburgh or Detroit fans to cry about. Look at the amount of cups they won in their stretch. No one is going to feel sorry for them if they suck for 10 years.

The fact that they traded Rantanen gives me hope. They could have stayed the course, sign him to a long bad contract and wait until the core gets too old, overpaid, and hopeless like Pittsburgh.
