I should of watched that instead of Carolina. I'm actually rooting for them, but Mikko is making every one of us who called him out the last two years look correct.
I don't know if he doesn't have the legs, or his ego is so big he actually believes he's going to produce the same way he had been without Mack playing the same way.
He's basically doing nothing, except trying to snipe it, and he's not getting easy looks.
I’ve watched every one of his games since being traded and I’m quite convinced his game is not going to suit Carolina’s system at all.
I love Mikko to death, but I have no idea how his “impossible to knock off the puck and great board play” has stuck with him for the last two seasons. He literally falls over his own feet like 5x a game.
He doesn’t have the motor or the endurance to play in their system. I would love to be proved wrong in this, but I don’t think I’m going to be.

I'm not surprised, but still in the adjustment window for him. Again, still an amazing talent, but Necas new car smell speed has me drooling right now. I think that Cmac hit a homerun with this one.

The fact that the expansion fee isn't hockey related revenue is really crazy to me. That's a huge windfall of money landing solely in the owners lap.
I would not be surprised at all if the definition of HRR is a breaking point in the next round of CBA talks.
I hope Mikko figures it out and it is indeed the adjustment period.
One thing that has struck me is how Necas d zone coverage is actually half decent. The canes fans thought he was trash on D. Boy oh boy are canes fans in for a surprise watching Mikkos defensive efforts if Necas was trash.
No they've tried, the owners guard that shit like the golden fleece which it is lol.

That was what cause a full season to be lost last time.
He will, but he's going to look really bad for a minute, and needs to either wake up if possible, or have a monster off season and take a prove it deal.
He's dog shit carrying around a bazooka. He's absolutely ineffective all over the ice, and while not contributing directly to goals against often he is layers deep jumping off the ice before they happen.
He is working harder, and producing less. I don't know if he can work harder and still have nasty accuracy on his shot.
It can absolutely be corrected if he looks at himself in the mirror and is disappointed. The trade either wasn't enough, or he can't engage another gear in his current form.
I've seen this shit all my career, and remember my career was based on physical readiness.. Literally in the infantry, especially at high levels your body gets you paid and sets your status for where you rank. Intelligence is needed, but it's number two in consideration.
Let yourself go 10%, or have an injury and be 10% less for only a minute hopefully. You suck, your leadership sucks, your standing sucks, your words mean less.

Yeah, not sure how much appetite the players have for that... but at the same time, that is not an unsignificant amount of money being taken off the table by the owners.
What I actually think is that the NHLPA will try to use a potential fight on the issue in order to gain some other consession in the negotiations elsewhere.

No, there is other shit lol. HRR is so deep at this point it can't be touched. The players would have to decide to go full shit fight to even get it on the table.
They're happy escrow is being handled somewhat fairly at this point and don't want to f*** that up.
It's classic, the owners negotiation is based on what's in the players faces, and have never been willing to budge on HRR voodoo.
If anything the hockey execs will only incrementally improve it in each CBA like slipping roofies into their drinks with other shit.
