Surely the Stars have never benefited from Jamie Benn intentionally opposing players. So they are understandably outraged. No player on their team would dare do something like this.

We knew he wasn't very good but I am somewhat surprised how fast his game fell off a cliff.
I'm honestly not surprised at all. He was never a starting goaltender, and now can't even really be a reliable backup.

I see it the other way - if the guy is willing to sacrifice almost 10M in real dollars to get a fresh start I commend him. He wants to prove he can still play.

I don't think it's that much. He's on year #4 of a 5-year deal that pays him $4.5M per year.
I think in his mind he's going to find a taker at $2M but I doubt it.
