His season with the Vancouver Giants start in 3 days so i guess they didn’t want him to miss some games.

Also why Protz isn't at the main camp also. Both Thorpe and Protz have their regular seasons start in a few days so they were both sent to their junior teams to prepare for that.

I agree with WTK that you want to give someone like Thorpe a little something after his good games over the weekend. But I can understand the organization knowing that they won't make the team want them to go back ASAP to get ready for their respective seasons.

I'm curious about his cycling/playmaking. I could see him being a bit like Anderson where shooting/hands is really his main weapon. If he can scan the zone better than Andy he could be a decent player, maybe 50-60 points (ceiling)

That's pretty graceful of you - Bergevin definitely just didn't tell them about the bus and left them standing in the rain wondering where the team was.

When we drafted him I thought the word was he skated pretty well. How slow is he ? Still think he's a good pick, just thought he was faster

I don't recall hearing that but the good news is that he's not in as bad of shape as Ben Merrill.

Yeah, it's WHL and all, but beating a goalie with what appeara to be a clean look, not deflected is pretty damn good imo.

We have a proper development department now, I'm confident they'll be able to work with Thorpe in the next few years and focus on some of the weaker aspects of his game i.e. the skating. You can't make him a 10 skater, but with a lot of work he can be a 6, which is all he needs to be at that size.
