They obviously have more pull with the US guys and guys wanting to go there like Dickinson, but they are the best at scouting and developing in the country

Look no further than 2021, all of their top picks were guys who were "ranked" quite a bit lower than they were taken. Barkey, Cowen and Bonk. All taken higher than expected, all absolute homeruns that are the meat and bones of this championship team. I'm not sure you could find a better start to a draft in CHL history with guys who weren't slam dunk top picks. Then they grabbed Montgomery in the later rounds.

If this guy makes it, he along with Halliday would be a good start to a 3rd future line. Montgomery brings some speed & Halliday is a very good playmaker & we can always use good playmakers especially with size. If they could find a good goal scoring RW they could create another good line & there are a few in this yr's draft especially if they can trade back & acquire another pick.
