He have good offensive instinct and great physical ability.

If he become a NHL player, I see him to be a very good #5 physical d-man.

Good looking pick!

I'm definitely intrigued. He's a great interview and physically he's ahead of where he should be. I don't think it means he has no growth potential there, as he's apparently always been one of the big kids. I liked his game. He knows how to take away space, he defends the middle and he's strong as an ox.

Kanata ,ON
He's pretty good at moving the puck, both with his feet and with a solid pass. Nothing spectacular but all around efficient in transition, which is always a plus for a defense first Dman.

He reminds me Emelin a bit. About the same size. Good hitter. Seems to have the same shortcoming offensively.

That would be perfect on 3rd pairing.

Both Xhekaj's and him, that a lot of hitters!!

People won't like to hear this but,
He is Xhekaj insurance basically

Xhekaj is aggressive, will fight, but is more offensively inclined. Protz is more defensive, won't ever be known for his offensive instincts, but damn he likes to hit, still don't think he fights that often, nor won't in the future. They just don't play the same style at all, won't have the same impact, I see Xhekaj more like Souray was before he understood how to produce, while some pointed Protz being like Emelin, which isn't a bad comparison at all if Protz learns to skate better.

IF Protz makes it while Xhekaj is still there, could see a case to be made for both on the team at the same time (depending on a shitload of factors, of course)
