Great team but I can't believe McT plays, again - why risk tarnishing the legendary save?

I hope Wright plays - it's a definite possibility. Sillinger?

Over the years, my love for the NHL has decreased while my love of Junior Hockey has increased. I am looking forward to the Christmas tournament.

Yup. Even with average goaltending, we should be a strong favourite. The upcoming drafts are "impressive" for Canada - to put it mildly.

every year the same thing. They are not in the NHL until they are in the NHL. I don't get caught up in the waste of time HF obsession with playing NHL fantasy GM. So, until McTavish is a NHL regular he's on my team. When he is a NHL regular, then there will be roster updates.

The defence on the 2022 team was so mobile. The d-men could skate/twist away from pressure and it was the entire group aside from Big Del Mastro.

Sebrango, Seeley, Thompson all two-way, mobile, athletic defencemen. Cormier too. These 4 can't return. Cuelemans and Mateychuk come in as substitutes for 2023.

McTavish, Sillinger aren't going to play, they are NHLers. I think Wright and Othmann are the others to watch. But I like Schaefer coming in. Pinelli, Guenther probably join the team with their high-skill level. Wonder if young guys like Fantilli and Wood push for spots.

The 2022 defense struggled to clear the zone - it was certainly a weakness and came back to haunt us many times.

There might be a reason for the removal - maybe they didn't play well in August / maybe someone better came along.

Either way, it will be a stacked roster. Sooooo nice to see.

So I have Korchinski, Del Mastro, and Laroque replacing Luneau, Warren and Lambos on defence.
I don’t have Lambos retuning because of how bad he was in the summer. I think there is a legit possibility he loses his spot to Mateychuk and Korchinski

I really think Tyson Hinds is a sleeper also and he‘s a guy to look out for on defence.

I have Kidney and Gaucher replacing Danielson and Geekie since they’re returning players. Geekie isn’t really suited for a checking line role so I don’t know if he’ll make the team unless there is injury’s to the top-6.

Thornton needs a big year in Barrie to get into HC radar - don’t know how likely it is even if he does. I really liked Reid Dyck from the prospect game so i’ll go with him as the 3rd goalie behind Brennen and Gaudreau.

I don’t expect Wright to stay in the NHL all year.

Quite a few of them wouldn't have been had it not been for the long list of player rejections from the Christmas roster to a summer do-over tournament for laughs.

Different year, different tourney. different set of circumstances.

We'll see how the roster will look by late October/early November. could be completely different.

He likely makes the team, but this isn't exactly a normal year when it comes to projecting the previous team. There will be more top end players available at Christmas then there was in August.

McTavish should make the Ducks ( correct me if im wrong )
Guenther doesnt he make the team ? not really familiar with Arizona so might be wrong
Wright who knows i think it would be better for him to go back to Kingston but Francis might keep him up

personally i would surprised if he doesnt make the starting line up but im no expert neither i guess will have to wait and see who makes the big league

Sillinger is gone
McTavish should make the Ducks ( correct me if im wrong )
Guenther doesnt he make the team ? not really familiar with Arizona so might be wrong
Wright who knows i think it would be better for him to go back to Kingston but Francis might keep him up

personally i would surprised if he doesnt make the starting line up but im no expert neither i guess will have to wait and see who makes the big league

You would think but like 13 players were missing from the August tournament. Rather unlikely we are missing that many in December. I would be surprised if he doesn't make it as well I just am not sure it is a slam dunk.

A lot of those missing players have graduated. Of the guys who couldn’t attend in the summer, only 3 I believe are able to play with the winter squad. Wright, Guenther and Johnston.
