Which is what they should do.

I believe he still only has 170 MLB plate appearances.
I mean sure, but at some point if he doesn't improve, they need a viable option to not be a blackhole in the lineup, while he works through stuff in AAA.

I fully expect him to get hot at some point, he flashed a bit last year.

I'm very biased in these situations, because I remained 100% committed to a struggling rookie named Dustin Pedroia despite some friends vehemently insisting Alex Cora needed to replace him in the lineup.

One of the "most right I will ever be about anything" moments in my life. Ever since that I tend to give highly rated prospects a very long leash to work things out.

(I really wish I was as optimistic about Casas now as I was about Pedroia then, but I'm not giving up on him just yet.)

Alex Cora replace rookie Pedroia? I don't think so.

Hell baby
If they ever need to send Casas down it’s a pretty easy pivot to Turner and Chang, I just think we’re another month+ of struggles away from that

That was 100000% THE debate during the first few months of the '07 season when Pedroia was terrible to start.

You reeled me into the boat with that one.

"I remained 100% committed to a struggling rookie named Dustin Pedroia despite some friends vehemently insisting Alex Cora needed to replace him in the lineup."

I thought you meant manager Alex Cora needed to replace Pedroia in the lineup. Forgot Cora played with the Sox back then.
