I saw Musty as the former. Nothing about his play made me think the latter was a possibility. I fear he will be another labanc now.If you see Musty as a high-end NHLer, who can lean on his scoring and offensive gifts to carry the day, then you have a point. He dominated the CHL, and now has to waste a year where he could be learning how to dominate the AHL.
But, if you see him as a guy who will contribute but also needs to improve some of his weaknesses, then I must differ. Those deficiencies can be ironed out in the CHL, with the goal of him making the AHL as a more well-rounded player next season.
And it's not just the competition in the chl, it's the coaching and the fact the clearly doesn't want to be in Sudbury. Low chance he comes to camp next year markedly better if this is his year.
I'd love to be wrong and will happily eat some musty crow if I am. I just had hopes he could be a 1st line winger and that seems to be a fleeting reality.
