I know I know. Nothing has happened yet.

But I truly... We're boned. Nothing is going to happen. I just don't see it.

Cobbled together roster with mostly our current flotsam to fill holes.
Sort of looking that way, at this point. Lots of time for developments tho.

Since center is a hot topic, we're coming up on the 10yr anniversary of Boston trading away young center Tyler Seguin

At what point does it become irresponsible to waste any more of Pastrnak & McAvoy’s prime years than is absolutely necessary?

Yes, they’re screwed now. However, the if you make some painful decisions and trade what chips you do have to recoup at least some draft capital, can you accelerate the rebuild by even one year?

That's why Sweeney is bringing back Lucic.

He'll flip him back to LA and the 'rebuild' will be done faster

If the recent trades are anything to go by, this is not the offseason to try and flip assets for futures. Starting to feel like the best course of action is to try and ride out the bonus overages, try and get into the playoffs on the back of great defense and goaltending while incorporating youth into depth roles, and reevaluate next summer once the cap goes up.

They’re definitely stronger on the back end than they are at forward as presently constituted.

However, with the emphasis that was placed on playing a more open, offensive minded style this past season, do we feel like Montgomery can switch gears and try to play a grind it out brand of hockey where you try to win games 2-1?

If Bergy had no issues sitting we might have gotten out of the first round. Ha
