Oliver Moore just feels like a Rangers type of pick

NIck Lardis - one of the best skaters in this draft. Late 1st, early 2nd.

Lardass?

Game 2, Rochette quick assist.
Lawrence added an assist for Halifax in the 2nd period. Scored one to make it 5-2 Halifax after 2 periods

Any undrafted Tye Kartye types this summer that Rangers can sign as Undrafted FA??? Feisty players with skill and skating ability

1. Nate Danielson
2. Calum Ritchie
3. Graycyn Sawchyn
4. Nick Lardis
5. Jesse Kiiskinen (if they go Euro)

Kiiskinen would be a reach but he’s a faster Sykora with skill. Danielson is the kid I really want. Ritchie with Othmann would make money.
3 or 4 most likely to be at Rangers pick. 5 makes sense if trade down. Also wouldn’t hate a D like Molendyk, but I also don’t think this is a great D year so I wouldn’t necessarily be chasing that position. Don’t think 1 or 2 is there

I like Graycyn Sawchyn. He has some Callahan in his game. Feisty forward. Rangers can use more of that in the system. I like his upside as a pesky 2rd or 3rd line forward.

Just what the Rangers need another small forward. If he is not a Marchand type of agitator, no need for another small forward .

He's most certainly not an agitator, lol

Exactly the type prospect we don't need, I agree. Imo, there should be just way better prospects at #22-23. Bigger bodies, better shots.

I'd rank him mid 2nd round tbh

John Davidson is on record that the Blue Jackets are going to take a center which sounds like Leo Carlsson or Will Smith----assuming that Anaheim takes Fantilli. Next in line who might take Michkov is San Jose, then Montreal, then Arizona......and I think one of those teams will. If he falls out of the top 5 it won't be far.

A question I have is a lot of defensemen seem to be on the rise and I'm kind of thinking several may get picked between 10 and 20. That might drop a forward down to the Rangers who will pick at least at 23.....maybe 22. That said the Rangers are also thin on prospect defensemen. Outside of Hartford all we have currently are late round college guys.....Kjellberg, Mancini, Kempf none of whom are a lock to be signed. The other position we're thin at is Right Wing. Our three best forward prospects are all Left Wings--Othmann, Cuylle, Sykora. There's BMB at center and Edstrom....maybe Trivigno. Maybe Barbashev, Laba and Chmelar will also turn out but it's a little early to say for all three. At Right wing now really we're looking at Pajuniemi and Berard. Neither is guaranteed and neither is going to be a top 6 NHL forward.

I wouldn't necessarily be against the Rangers trading down and picking up more picks depending on what those picks are. We only have 4 right now--a 1st, a late 3rd and 2 6th's. If we could get a later 1st and a 2nd or 2 2nd's and a 3rd it might be something to think about.

I also am in the trade down camp. Try to get a second or at least a third depending on how far we trade down.

Need to get some more picks somehow. Next three drafts we already traded most our top picks outside the first round

The Davidson connection in Columbus makes me think they may go Smith at #3. SJ takes another Swede in Carlsson and runs away laughing like hyenas.

Montreal is where things get interesting. Hughes and Gorton will likely go American. Wouldn't discount Moore or Leonard going here which would really turn things topsy turvy.

Arizona would be stupid to not take Michkov but he won't drop beyond Washington, IMO.

I can see all of Detroit, Vancouver, and Buffalo going defense with their picks. This will push some good forwards down.

If the Rangers top players come off the board by 22 or 23, I'd be talking to Detroit. Two of their 2nd's and a 3rd. They have 5 picks in the top 50. Pressure will be on them to make the playoffs sooner rather than later. Do they want Goodrow? The Rangers can swing a deal here.

Detroit gets Goodrow and 22/23

Rangers get 41,42, and 43

how do you feel about Brindley? I know he's small but still. Has good speed. Offensive instincts.
Would be nice to see Danielson drop to 22/23. Ritchie could possibly be there which would be nice.

I love Brindley but at some point you have to say enough with the small guys. He doesn’t play small and his puck skills are all on the plus side, but he’s tiny. I think he’d be a good gamble for a team with two firsts or a massive prospect pool, but not the centerpiece of a draft class. There’s a misconception that teams are shrinking, but they’re actually not promoting smaller kids after drafting them. For every Gourde or MSL there are hundreds of career minor leaguers.

I’d like them to stick with the toughness/high compete theme but with size. At least for two more drafts.

I can see MTL going Euro/Russian. Bobrov is the head of scouting for MTL and he does love him some Euros. I can actually see that being the landing spot for MM, they have a lot of prospects who can fill their holes so they don't need a pick that will be an impact right away and whenever MM comes over he will slide right into their lineup.
