In my opinion, Foote is more likely to make the NHL than Clarke which is why I would have him above in a ranking. Clarke would probably be the better player, but less likely to get there.

Clarke has had solid year after year improvement, but if he can’t crack a teams, top nine he’s going to struggle to make the NHL. Foote on the other hand can carve out a role as a bottom six player and maybe push for a role higher up in the lineup.

I think these things get murky when you think about the player and how he relates to the team right now. Could Clarke be a better overall player when all is said and done? Sure. Is Foote closer to making an impact now? I think he is. That's why I voted Foote.
