Another point I'll make off the initial discussion jump-off.

Heineman was getting trashed here left right and center during the year, and now that he had a good end to the year in Laval, people are ready to vote him over Mesar/Farrell, etc.

Recency bias is such a powerful drug here. People are down on Farrell cause he, shockingly, needs to adjust from the NCAA to the NHL. Never has happened before in the history of time.

On the other hand, when the dust settles, one will follow the next and they’ll be either 7th or 8th. In the grand scheme of things, they will both get a high/mid-high ranking on the chart, which is correct.

So they are not getting trashed on the whole, people just find things to rank them at the expense of the other because of granularity of the poll.

Just more pointing out for buddy who fired in here that X prospect was a bad pick because X and X were ranked higher.

It's a fan poll therefore it's subject to fan votes, and fans are fickle, in the moment, impatient bunches.

I can guarantee you that Mesar is still highly valued in the Habs organization.

It seems to me that Farrell is being judged rather harshly on a very small number of nhl games.

He remains the same quality prospect that he was prior to his NHL stint.
