I was close to voting Farrell ahead of Beck. It will be interesting to watch Farrell this year.

Lol that's like the most likeable comment on this board these days.
Mesar had a tough D+1. Obviously management saw/sees more in him than he's shown this far.
Still quite early, but a lot of people are writing him off.
I also think there's an element of floor vs ceiling going on here. A player like Heineman has a path the NHL that seems more clear cut than Mesar.

Demidov is a HAB
They drafted Mesar because they liked the prospect and they should have.
I guarantee you the management team is not as down on Mesar as fans are, they have a wider view than recency bias. They don't tend to throw out everything good a prospect did to focus on the negatives.

Good lord i just clicked on the 2013 prospects.. not 1 player in the entire list was turned into anything except Lehks, and even then 2nd liner tops.

How is Slafkovsky a bad pick ? I agree Mesar pick wasn't really good but he didn't look lost as a 18 yrs old, Cooley Jiricek Nemec would have looked way worse than him in the NHL

We've got 6 so far, plus 10 to be voted for, minus Primeau, whi isn't a good prospect for me.
So that's 15. Are there 5 good prospects in the to add list? It's debatable. I like Davidson and Simoneau. Hopefully Rohrer can get back in the picture. And maybe Bogdan has some upside to be a slick undersized D. The other 2023cpicks and Nurmi may have some potential. So it's close.

I like Heineman's ceiling if he can stay healthy. That package of speed, size, a good work ethic, and a good shot translates well to the NHL.
Will be interesting to see if he can steal a spot, especially with Dvo out to start the year.
Farrell was almost a Hober Baker top 3 candidate. Hardly a nobody.
