Man that has to be one of the smallest and lightest group of forwards Canada has ever sent to the WJCs.

Congrats to Akey. Hopefully he puts his stamp on the tournament with a big performance.

Surprised DuPont didn’t get an invite, I know he’s only 15 but he controls the ice so incredibly at 15 years old. Not that he should of made team because he will next year but he should of got a invite

I think as young as they wanted to go is McKenna, he's going to have a monster WJHC imo.

Feels like he’s still going to be in tough to make the team, especially since he’s never played for Canada at any level and they love the familiarity of having guys who played the u18s and/or Hlinka at this tourney. Would be great if he can push his way onto the team though.

He moves the puck well and skates well, that might be the spot he can pick.

CP fans melting down because Parekh isn’t on the list. Some unhappy that Akey is. Their tears sustain me.

I knew this would be the outcome lol.

For those that have watched Parekh more than I have - the highlights of him walking the blue line and making rushes are cool, but is there more there to the player than just the skill package that look good in highlight packages? Flame fans on twitter are starting to shine up Norris Trophies already as they do, but curious for a third party to confirm to what degree they are deluded this time.

He was pretty turnover prone in the prospect tourny this year, looked like he was struggling a bit there.

2024-25 Selection Camp Roster | National Junior Team

Akey off to Canada's World Junior's selection camp

Real happy for Akey to get the invite. Building his game back after extensive injury rehab this is a solid benchmark to be up for Team Canada consideration. Lots of mobile skill defenders so let's see how it shakes out. That Matthew Schaffer looks like a pretty sweet player.

Of note my hometown Saskatoon punching above its population belt with 4 camp invites. Roger McQueen, another high rank prospect had a great Dub start only to get injured (again).
