This is usually a three-week commitment that requires you to check the thread almost daily. Do not sign up if you cannot commit to this. Two auto's and you will be relieved of your duties as GM.

We will use the authentic draft order based on points percentage as of March 30, 2023.

PHASE ONE: 2023 NHL ENTRY DRAFT
We will have a 7-round 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Picks: The draft clock will run from 8 a.m. to Midnight ET. Each pick will be 4-hours long. Once time is up on a pick, anyone can auto the pick. We auto 3 North Americans, then 1 European, from NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings list. Goaltenders are NOT auto'd. Before any more picks are made, the GM can change the auto pick and not be charged with an auto. However, all auto picks are final once the next pick is made. No exceptions.

NOTE: All teams must have a minimum of FOUR and a maximum of TWELVE picks in any draft. The ONLY exception to this rule is if a real-life team currently holds fewer than four or more than twelve.

PHASE TWO: FREE AGENT FRENZY
You may NOT sign any pending UFA's (this includes Group 6 UFA's). Following the draft, there will be a UFA signing period. All UFA's are assumed to want to test free agency (this does not mean they won't re-sign with their old team). I will act as Universal Player Agent and weigh the role and salary offered from each team.

The Salary Cap will have a max of $83.5M and a floor of $62.2M.

NOTE: No trade can involve more than FIVE pieces on a side, or EIGHT pieces total. Also, if any player gets traded who absolutely wouldn't be (i.e. McDavid), the deal also gets vetoed automatically. Either GM can post the trade on the thread, but I need the other to confirm it. If the trade is borderline veto-worthy, PLEASE seek my approval first.

Traded picks are limited to 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Rosters: Please post your initial roster, and post an updated version when a trade is made. Always include Cap status. Rosters listed without scratches (since that would never happen) are not allowed.

After you pick, please PM the next GM to notify them! And POST THIS WITH YOUR PICK!!! If you cannot PM for whatever reason (i.e. on a phone), ASK SOMEONE TO PM in your post.

Please, do not announce trades until all teams have a GM.

Caps are still open for business. Not the most enticing pieces, I know.

Still open to listening on Kuznetsov (with some retention) and maybe Wilson too.

Want youth and picks first and foremost

:bruins are looking for a third party to retain ~$1.5M for 1 year.

We could offer a pick upgrade, but are mostly looking to deal from our prospects.

Trade Talk

Looking to move Adam Henrique to a contender for the final year of his contract, willing to retain up to the max. Good middle six forward who can play center or wing. Looking for picks (don't have to be this year).

Also shopping RW Jakob Silfverberg and willing to retain on his contract as well. Final year and can get his cap hit down to a more suitable rate for a checking line winger. A mid pick would likely do it.

Able to take on one year cap dumps, especially in the form of steady veteran defensemen.

:caps some starting/asking prices for specific players...

Kuznetsov- 1st+B prospect, can retain some and take back a bit of salary if need be as well. Willing to haggle and negotiate.
Wilson- 1st+a good prospect/young roster player or two. I'm far from opposed to moving Wilson but I'm not sure I'd do it lightly.

Throw me a mid round pick and you can have a year of Anthony Mantha for half off.

Don't have a set price for everyone but I'll listen on anyone but Ovi and Sandin, though younger guys like Protas/McMichael also aren't top priorities to move unless they're included in a package for an upgrade.

Interesting pick here. What’s your reasoning for taking him so high?

I’m trying to get more opinions in this mock and more discussion going so if anyone wants me to shut up just tell me

Shut up.

I like his skill level, captain of his mediocre team and plays a great two-way game.

I would've taken Smith, but he got autoed

This pick surprises me but I like it. Not who I expected at 6 but very hard to question his offensive talent. Do you see him as a C at the NHL level?

I’m a huge fan

I’ve been ramping up my couch scouting lately. I’ve been watching a lot of the NTDP team ahead of the u18. He’s blown me away. Second to Fantilli the best skater in the draft. Attacks like he was shot out of a cannon, yet still has the skill and poise to make plays

I think he will be a C at the next level. He has the mind for it. He reminds me of Dylan Larkin in Detroit. He has leadership qualities and a high end work ethic to go with the marauding play style. Of the big three NTDP guys he’s the clear best for me. I’ve soured a bit on Smith, but he’s still top 12 for me. I’d have the other one above Smith too…
