I like and value Fowler just as much as any other Habs fan but he is playing on a stacked NCAA team correct? Those stats are a reflection of Fowlers ability but also the teams ability as well.

Can't wait to see what he does when he turns pro! That's when we will really know how good he is.

Yes, his team is good, but he's a huge reason why. He had a fantastic weekend against BU and was key in securing the 2 wins.

There are currently two goalies who have "better" stats than his (I don't count a goalie with only 9 or 10 games played). One of the goalies is turning 24 in about 3 months (Alex Tracy) and is also on a stacked team. The other (Josh Kotai) plays for Augustana in the CCHA which is pretty much the weakest NCAA division so god only know what type of shots he's facing. The highest ranked team in that division is rated 14th in the NCAA. He's 21 at the moment, but I am curious about Kotai as he's a BC native that has played in various junior leagues in Canada and in the US and has always put up solid numbers, but he never seems to play in the top leagues for his age group.

Augustine is 2.07 and .928
Hrabal is 2.38 and 0.924
Gajan is 3.50 and .882

So Fowler is outplaying his contemporaries.

his team is great, they are now #1 in the NCAA. It took until the last game of the 1st half before they allowed their first PP goal against. They are one of the best shot blocking teams in the NCAA again this year, and they are among the tops in fewest shots allowed. In fact, if they keep this up, they will break the record at BC for fewest shots per game. They just fell short of breaking their 19 consecutive home wins record by losing what would have been the 19th win at home.

I would say that BC, Denver, Michigan St and Minnesota are the heavy favorites to win a National Championship this year. Denver returned the most points from last year of any team in the NCAA and clearly are stacked but BC plays so well defensively, has 2 top lines and if you get past all of that you have to beat what is likely the best goalie in the NCAA (certainly in the last 7 gms as he's playing the best i've seen from him yet since giving up 5 goals in a game for the 1st time in his NCAA career.

He's been arguably outplaying all 3 for 3 straight years really lol

All 3 are 2nd round picks and Jacob is a late 3rd, I still don't know how we got so lucky lol..

While Hrabal may have size on Jacob, Augustine is even smaller lol

I love that Monty's contract is up in 2 years as well, ideally Dobes pushes him out, gets his own 'friendly deal' and Jacob will hopefully be ready for backup duties by then

Having quality Gs in the pipeline and being able to keep the cost down at that position, at least in the medium term, will help Hughes assemble one helluva deep and skilled contender for a good run of three years or so, IMO, before needing to make some harder decisions.

He's definitely been on two unbelievably good teams. Regardless, plays in HE, no easy nights. Super impressive.

I actually think Primeau's run was more impressive. He also had solid teams but those teams were run and gun hockey. Especially, the Sikura, Gaudette team. Loved watching Primeau in college, still have small hope he pans out.

But Primeau was a 7th round pick. Several draft “gurus” had Fowler ranked as one of the best goalies in the ‘23 draft. That distinction, FWIW, gives me more hope with Fowler.
