Teams should have shaken hands after today's game. Delay the inevitable. Good night folks. Better days are ahead of us. Hopefully after Wednesday.
No, I want them to waste their time and energy(?) traveling to Edmonton and getting "prepared" for the game, only to get shutout again. They wasted my time, so I want them to waste a few more days of theirs before their summer vacation starts.

Played the first period tonight that they needed to play on Friday night. Too little, too late as it usually has been since pulling it out in the nick of time in 2014.

Fiala trade looking like a disaster again because the argument of never winning anything with him during his prime production years gains more steam.

What can you say about the PLD trade/contract that hasn't been said? It's just a job ending move and Blake can't be allowed to stay. It's almost like Blake didn't care if he had the job next season when making the PLD acquisition.
Yeah especially when Fialas tied to superstars like Laferriere, Lewis, and Lizzotte. I can’t imagine why he’s not having much of an impact.

Fiala last night set up prime scoring chances with the worst linemates who couldn’t even do anything about it. I’m ok bitching about Fiala but at least do it honestly.

Gavrikov has played like ass

but next game, the logical thing to do is to scratch PLD & Englund and have Thomas and Clarke play

*and yes you can have two RDs on the same line, YOU might not be able to play LD as an RD, but a professional can
No, you can't.

The second you see McDavid breaking down the right side and you have a RHD with his stick in the middle instead of on the outside you should understand.

When you see the Kings ridiculous system of defensive partners passing the puck horizontally to each other instead of up ice, and those passing angles are compromised, you should understand.

When you look around any league other than ball hockey and see just how exceedingly rare it is, you should understand.

Lets talk about who's actually played bad with context.

-Arvidsson, legit the most unclutch player, A midget who is always getting tossed around, and a turnover machine. Arvy gets so much ice time in critical moments as well and I have no idea why. There's nothing good about him except maybe his acceleration but he has the balance of a 5 year old so Arvidsson can f*** off.
-Moore, can you talk about legit a playoff ghost? Always a non-factor. It's truly impressive he has had 31 goals this season because he's been a complete no show especially with the icetime he's had.
-Danault was playing really well defensively so I give him a pass. He was locking down McDavid last 2 games.

The second line is a complete joke. Arvidsson is trash and Moore is a ghost.

4th line...

Lewis-Lizotte-Fiala

Lewis is a complete waste of space. He was acquired to be a PK specialist but the PK is ass. No reason why he should be playing. Lizzo is just too small for big boy hockey. Why do they put fiala with these pylons? No idea.

Bad lines, Bad Roster Management by Blake and Hiller, and second line is complete shit. Gavy sucks too.

There's your reasons.

OT, but I think the NHL should change the rules so that when a team pulls their goalie they have more of advantage.

Obviously not getting into it here, and nothing this year, but safe to say the Draisaitl injury was not well received in Edmonton, we’d be getting into the weeds beyond that ;)

Nothing like Pietrangelo two handing Drai after the game with minimal consequences though
Pietrangelo never played for the kings.

Was draisaitl ever injured by the kings? I am being honest I don’t remember. I can tell you if any king was dirty in the last three years it was by accident because this is the softest team in the nhl

this is 1st time i saw this and yeah that was dirty but dont blame the kings lol

nagging high ankle from mikey pulling him by the collar back out of a scrum

of course you can make the argument that drai went into that scrum punching people from behind as always but then we go down the rabbit hole

live like a bitch, die like a bitch

draisaitl two handing people after goals: 'hell yeah playoff warrior good hard hockey'

draisaitl getting two handed in the course of play: 'I am calling the police'

It is honesty: he is a .50 PPG playoff performer over his career. Basically the same as Arvidsson except one guy cost nothing and has a lower cap hit while the other cost Faber, a 1st and a large contract.

The point is that Fiala isn't carrying a team but Blake put a team together where he needs to do so. He's the icing on the contender cake and not the flour or the eggs, although Blake's contender cake appears to be a vegan flourless one.

I like Fiala. He is fun to watch. He can't be your best guy though. He drops .25 PPG in the playoffs from his career regular season average and it isn't because he played with Trevor Lewis for 42 games.

Anyways, the trade can be horrible with Fiala being a good player at the same time. If you are on the side of "win now" in a trade involving prospects/futures, you need to win now. Doughty's replacement was sitting right here and the move was made to get a complimentary winger instead. It sucks.

In the last 3 playoffs between the two teams the Nurse headbut on Danault is the dirtiest play. Otherwise its actually been pretty tame as far as crossing a line.

Last year in the playoffs with the Kings he was playing injured. And this year he is playing with Lewis and Lizotte. To pretend he’s had a fair crack is pretty disingenuous. And it’s a not an apples to apples comparison. Kings have notoriously mismanaged the youth. To act like it’s a straight apples to apples transition then that’s not very realistic to assume Minnesota Faber was going to be LA Faber. Fiala is a great player who does dumb shit at times however that doesn’t change the fact that he’s been heavily misused. And yes Arvidsson sucks with all the opportunities he’s given.

i honestly think we shouldn't judge anyone (minus PLD) on this team with how this front office has been running things. They really are lost in every aspect of the teams make up. I am just glad somehow Byfield has made it out alive. They have totally mishandled Clarke in his developement but it looks like he will succeed despite every dumb move Blake has made

Fiala is playing with Lizotte because he hasnt truly fit anywhere. You think Kopitar didnt tell the coach he likes when Byfield is on the line with him and Kempe? You think Moore and Danault didnt say they like playing with Arvidsson more? Fiala is largely a one man band and his giveaway at the blueline with no one back means his linemates have more responsibilities.
I agree he is misused but a lot of this is on the player himself also. You would tee off on rookies for not scoring even when they had bad linemates. Fiala is not producing. No excuses at this time of year for a guy with that much experience and salary.

Im more so disappointed with Moore exclusively. I already gave up on PLD.

You think Fiala got the second highest point totals on the Kings because he doesn’t gel with anyone?

Fiala out scored Kopitar while being on musical chairs the entire season. Even if you’re making a gel argument, none of that shit matters when you’re putting your second most productive forward behind Kempe on the f***ing fourth line.

Fialas point totals were mostly him doing it alone. Do you remember any give and go type goals or any other highlights where he was part of a 3 man tick tack toe? I remember mostly him deking his way into the slot and sniping goals.
But I am in agreement with in that Id have Fiala on a top line with Byfield and Kempe.

Fun players are always "misused" per this board and effective role players always suck even when doing their job well. I'm pretty sure you are in the "Kovalchuk was misused" camp so it tracks. I'm a big Kaliyev guy so I can get behind the misused argument there but I also realize that, at the end of the day, sometimes these guys are what they are.

Fiala is what he is and has played exactly as advertised. Kings are 1-6 with him in playoff games so far. 5-5 against Edmonton in the playoffs without him in the lineup. Before you say that isn't his fault, I get it. The point, however, is that the trade has led to zero team results and every year that goes by without said results makes the odds of winning the trade even lower.

We can play hypotheticals with what Faber would be if he was Kings property but that is just an exercise in coping. All Faber has done is immediately excel at every level he has played. Minnesota didn't do anything amazing to unlock him and the Kings wouldn't have been able to screw it up even if they tried.

It is possible to like Fiala while also saying the Kings lost the trade, but that says a lot about Blake's tenure here. He somehow lost the trade that acquired arguably the best offensive player on the team.

Roy should have been dealt and Clarke should be in his spot. That's the failure.

sure again, i feel you're using my post to go on a tangent about something i wasn't even saying

so i can agree with your statements

the only thing i am saying, with the series 3-1 going to EDM, it's pretty much done. This kings team can't win 3 in a row, let alone vs an Edmonton team that owns their 1-3-1 system

So, (now this is the part that caused the confusion here), wouldn't it be cooool, if we just plugged in Clarke to gain some experience AND to scratch Dubois so that at least the coaching staff sends out a message to upper management that you know, you can't go in '24-25 with Dubois as your highest paid forward

and you come at me with strategies about McDavid, and RDs and etc.

at this point, it doesn't matter if we lose the game 2-1 or 10-2 it really doesn't

The humiliation is in full force. Maybe your eyeballs seeing a 10-2 loss will cause them to leak salty liquids, but I'm saying your eyeballs should have already been doing that a long while ago

So the result of that game does not matter

What matters, is thinking ahead

hope this is clearer
